Cheers johnny.

  3. Nice work mate ..what plastics do you use for Jews mate?if you dont mind me asking ...

its funny i hav got jew on a wide range of plastics frm wrigglers, shads, fish, flickbaits, slickrigs in the squidgy range.in gulps, the pogys, gobys, swimming mullet in 3-4in.also minnows & jerkshads in 5-7in.but my fav jew plastic is no doubt squidgy fish silver fox in 70-100mm.great allround s.p & get great bycatch in big bream & flattys.tsunami & storm 3 & 4in shads r also good lures.but a good tip is to use a s.p wif more action in dirty water or at nite.paddle tails r best in those conditions.hope ths helps u & good luck. Cheers johnny

  4. Hi guys jus a quik post.been fishn the parra for jew a bit in the last mth & hav got probly a dozen in 5 outings.fishn landbased at nite using live yakkas has bn producing the goods.no big jew, biggest went 81cm,but all the rest hav bn between 62-75cms.last sesh was friday nite wif nathan, aka beginner.1st stop was to get yakkas at a nearby wharf.there was a 60cm jew landed & gaffed by sum young fisho wen collectn our baits.got a dozen & went to our spot.we sent our livies & waited.nath had a good run but it droppd it.brang it in to check it & the teeth marks on the now halfdead yakka indicated jew,no doubt about it.was getn cold so i decided to flick a plastic to try get warm.bang,2nd cast i land a 65cm schoolie.nothn else aftr that so calld it a nite at 2am cos it was getn mighty cold.thanx for takn me out again nath, champion. Cheers johnny.

That pic was frm 2wks ago.2 70cm models taken on live yakkas.this is the 65cm jew taken on friday nite on plastic,6lb braid & leader.good fun on the lite stuff. Cheers johnny

Hey brotha great read mate.that tailor is a cracker mate & not a bad consolation prize for loosing the jew.dont worry about those jew bustoffs, they will come, but only wen im fishn with ya.lol.like nath says, bad luck i think.as u knw,i use 30lb leadr max & never had probs wif the jinkai which i use too.mayb a matter of tryn diffrent rod angles to turn biggr fish in the longer battles.works for me.man i gota fish ths spot of yours dude.off to take kids to skool now.talk soon mate. Cheers johnny.

  7. but yeah i have never caught hairtail before. they are a pretty awesome looking fish with some nasty teeth. Do u know if they are there all the time or just or just in certain times of the year??

hi mate,id love to get into sum jew & hairtial with u.the hairtail r there, but the peak time for hairtail is usually the cooler mths through winter frm wat iv bn led to believe.that means long cold winter nites.u can get em at any level of the water colum, frm deep down to mid & evn 2mtrs frm surface.wat baits did u get em on?good baits for em r livies, yakkas, poddys, but thy also take gangd pillys & fresh slab baits.also id love to chase both hairtail & the big mulloway wif u.hawkesbury is renowed for big jew & 30kg jew r caught every yr.if u can fit me on ur boat for a sesh anytime soon,pm me. Cheerr johnny.

  8. Good work pete.i also got 2 jew bout the same size on live yakkas fishn landbased in that areaa 65 & 70cms.also missd 2 otha jew runs.mayb me u & nath can organise a sesh soon on his & ur boat.if ur interestd, let us knw ok.good work pete, thyr definately around atm. Cheers johnny.

  9. Top work on those tailor roberta.some nice specimens there.mayb if u do get a chance to get into em again, mayb try a big plastic or hardbody under the tailor schools.usually jew shadow the tailor & u may get lucky.u may go through a few plastics, but if u get past the tailor,if the jew r there,it shouldnt take too long to hook up.also u may pik up a mega dusky also.with the tailor feedn on baitfish,it creates a natural berley trail & u never knw wat b hangn around.great post once again roberta, keep em coming. Cheers johnny.

  10. Good work on the jews brotha.i told ya,once u get ur 1st & workd out the prime times to chase em,ul cum up wif the goods,& thats wats seeming to happn.good stuf.so wen we gna hav our sesh bro?im stil waitn.lol.wat area did u fish?u can txt me the dtails if u dnt wnt to post here.keep in touch ok. Cheers johnny

  11. Good work pete & crew.some nice bags of fish.iv campd up wisemans way a couple times & its a beautiful area.btw, great tip about peeling prawns.when i was a youngr fella startn out fish some 20 odd yrs ago,i was taught to peel em.i didnt realise until fishn alongside unpeeled prawns, the difference in catch rate, unless using live prawns, jus pin em in the tail.so thats a great tip for people new to fishn, peel ur prawns & see ur catch rate improve. Top work pete, keep em coming. Cheers johnny.

  12. Thanx for a great day on the river mate.with very ordinary conditions & a few drenchings,it was a bit of a slow start but good finish once the tide startd to run in.seeing as we didnt hav a sounder & dnt knw that stretch of river,we ended up with a respectable bag.hoping nxt time we get into sum stinky silver slabs.your welcome at my house anytime mate, thanx again. Cheers johnny.

  13. Sounds like fun Anth!!!

Look forward to hearing about it. just be mindful of the Bay can get quite rough at times and will probably be a little busy,

I want to take my boat there too but would prefer to go with someone that know's it well before I give it a go,

    Good luck,

    Regards,

    Nathan

what u mean u wna go wif sum1 that knws the bay wel nath?iv told u i knw the bay.lol.wen me & anth hav a cracker sesh monday,we can hit it togetha wen u get bak. Btw,stonking blue nose anth.ur consistancy on the big bream in the cooler months is 100% strike rate since last season.cant wait til monday,im pumpd.hope the kings r stil around & we'l target the jew during tide changes.if that fails,we wil definately bag sum bream, trevs or flattys.& hopefuly sum pelagics on the troll.BRING IT ON! Talk soon. Cheers johnny

  14. They might well b mack tuna as me & a mate hav caught a few in sth west arm fishn landbased.we trek through the bush right to the end where the big bay is at the end of the chanels.how we'v caught em is wif tiny 5gm metals, clear or white 3in minnow plastics on light jigheads.anotha good way is to get em feedn on burley of pilly cubes or fish scraps, then float a unweightd pilly cube in the burley trail on light leader(around 8lb) & u should pik up a couple.u can fish light for em as thy dnt fight dirty like kings so u can jus play em out til thyr ready to b landed.we fish the arm frm shore, but cos ur on a tinny,u dnt hav to worry bout em cuttn u off on oyster coverd rocks wen cums time to landn em.giv those ways a go & im sure ul get in2 em.fast retreive on the surface or jus undr wif the metals to get em excited & competitive,& a fast erractic twitchn retreive wif the plastic.hope ths helps.good luck. Cheers johnny. P.s.sorry for the long reply.lol.

  15. Great work on landing ur 1st jews mate.cracker fish.u sure hav put in the hrs.once u crack the jew pattern on tides & feeding times in local waters, more wil surely come & alot more easier,hopefuly.lol.good onya jez, enjoy the feed.thyr my fav eatn fish, especially in the 5-12kg range.cheers johnny.
