  5. Try the walk in to Burning Palms! Hey we go back country here in New Zealand for trout and takes you 5 - 6 hour to get to said rivers! an hour is a stroll! :1prop:

    iv fished burning palms a few times & boy it is a walk alrite.the walk in is ok but goin back up,especially with a bag of fish,its a killer.but the fishing is usually worth it with great fishing,depending on what season,can get pelagics & great fish in the wash.always a mixed bag from BP.i reckon it should be called BURNING LEGS.your calves,thighs burn with pain & if your a smoker like myself,your lungs burn even more.lol.

    btw,great blackies & nice pics too.

    cheers johnny. :beersmile::thumbup:

  6. i just stick to the sp's.iv been exclusively fishing plastics for the last couple months & now lately we'v been starting to get the results.as we'r landbased,we pack light,1 rod & a backpack with lure,jigheads,leader material,scissor,pliers & some water.we cover alot of ground searching out active fish.if we dont find em within 30mins or so,we move on.alot of the times we drive to a different section of river,sometimes 2-3 times till we find the fish.theres been a few times we'v gone fishless or only land 2-3 fish,but sometimes it can be a fish a cast once theyv been located.btw,i fish the upper georges,from around picnic pt up to chipping norton.

    cheers johnny. :beersmile:

  7. bad luck on the big beasty anth,shame you didnt get to see him.at least you got to enjoy a lenghty fight before you got pinged.stick with it mate,you sure are in a good spot so big stinky wont be too far off.i got a little 56cm jew on plastic yesterday fishing local.

  8. good onya nick,congrats on breaking the drought.nice schoolie.autunm is a great time of yr to target them iv been told by a few oldies.around our local,i know people that target them on live baits at night & get some nice fish to 15kgs.& iv also got a couple & pulled hooks this autunm fishing our local.well done bro,keep it up.gota meet up for a fish soon.been keen to hit the beaches to chase these stinky silver slabs.

    cheers johnny. :beersmile::thumbup:

  10. congrats to bella on her pb 38cm bream,thats a great fish even for adult to land.im sure some older raiders havnt even caught a bream that big so a big well done to you bella. :thumbup: & i agree with the others,i think its a grinner of some sort.iv caught a couple a few years back fishing botany bay by boat whilst chasing flattys.my biggest grinner is 72cms.they actually fight pretty good on light gear.

    cheers johnny. :beersmile:

  11. they are some great looking jews & flattys you caught there mate.well done.excellent pics,especially of the jews,they look in top condition.just wondering,is that the same fish in the pics or were they different fish you caught???in any case,well done,theyr great fish in anyones language. :thumbup:

  12. hi guys,

    just a quick report on todays session with mate josh.started fishing at 3.30pm to 6.30pm.well in 15 casts,i landed 11 flattys,best goin 66cms on my first cast.after the 66cm fish i ended up with 10 more smaller fish[30-40cms].it was a fun session & hot bite.all fish landed on the same 5in gulp jerk shad in blue pepper colour.josh also got 3-4 flattys too.we were looking for the school jew in the area,we didnt find em but were happy with the action packed session on the flattys.all fish were caught casting to the same area so i think the smaller males were hanging around the bigger female fish i landed first.so they definately were there in numbers today.great fun.

    ALL FISH RELEASED TO FIGHT ANOTHER DAY.

    cheers johnny. :beersmile::thumbup:
