hi raiders reading them posts about first eva jew fish caught i was inspired to go out this morning on brisbane water ive been working this area for a while now it was a perfect morning out on the jet ski flicking my plastics around .Well it wasnt that long third drift and comes up tight on 6kg gear takes me for a few runs then i see colour 58cm jew thank god there was three guys fishing nearby as i had no landing net as i screamed like a 10year old and called the guys over to help land the fish they were amazed at how excited i was they took a pic with me holding my fish on the jet ski as i headed straight back to the ramp as it could not have got any better WAT A DAY and i know how everyone feels now absolutely awseome feeling nothing like i have had before pics to come when i can work out how to do it . Any info would be appreciated

awesome catch and yes sussex is a very healthy clean system choc full of fish

understandable how people could be sceptical ill know next time to get a photo of the wieght as it was a very fat thick mutha we all had bets as it was getting gaffed no one said 15 kgs put it that way thanks for the good post anyway mate

very nice mate ive fished the rip for a year and a half and only managed bream and taylor so nice job maybe ill try plastics next time if u dont mind what type of plastic were u using and what jig head ill be out there quite a few times this chrissy so im hoping to break my duck egg

thanks mate the leader was shot when we got it in but i think the light drag had something to do with the length of time to bring it in

yeah you are right we dont think the skipp had the drag up enough cause in the end me and my cousin got jack of it and tightend it up ourselfs the skipp would let us touch it then 2 min later it was in maybe if we had done it 45 min before it would been boatside who knows but he had some big runs everytime we got him close to the boat he would take off again

they will be there but there was a lot 64cm 63cm little maggots hopefully the water will be a lot cleaner for u goodyou luck let me know how go

it wasnt our gear im geussing the charter did that cause the rod was 6kg and only a small threadline he wanted the leader to snap before anything else ? thats the only reason i could think of

hi fishraiders headed out sunday on a charter from husky wharf went and got 20 livies then headed straight out to get amongst the kings there was 8 guy fishing bottom with bait on and 2 with soft plastics on 6kg rods 15kg m ain line and 6kg leader first drop bang my cousin was on to a monster king on the light tackle we cleared the other lines so we could fight this thing 2hrs later he pulls in a 107cm 15kg king on 6kg tackle what an awesome fight in the end of the day we got two kings 10 snapper one went 6kgs 4 trevally 5 flathead 3 jackets

could any fellow raiders please help me with the best rig set up for jew fish using whole fresh squid and live taylor any im fo would be helpfull thanks

hi raiders i have the boat gear and enthusiasem just looking for an experianced angler to teach me a few things and hopefully a fishing buddy i have a 5.5m half cabin good for night and if u get caught with bad weather just in the process of getting it set up how i want it .I live on the central coast umina if any raiders out there want to come along and show me a few thing i would more than happily supply boat and fuel just bring your gear leave a pm for me and i will get back to you cheers brendan

we are going on a charter on the 28th out of jb hoping to get some sport fishing done .It sounds promising dwon there have you heard anything

i have a funny story of a lost stella It was my brothers and he left it alone for a split second on a houseboat no rod holders and bam in it goes later that night while still fishing and i wouldnt believe if i hadnt seen it but our friend hooked up a soapy jew and it had the stella hooked in its mouth However while fishing the next night his friend did exactly the same by leaving the rod unatended after being told to gaurd it with his life and BAM rod goes in again but no retrievel this time
