  1. Joshagius you must have been there on a quite day, I usually fish that area on a Monday. The last time I was in that area I counted 7 trawlers working from Patonga Beach to Midddle Head, they drive me crazy. Monday 2 weeks ago there were 2 trawlers going up and down the Vines, which really got under my skin. I agree with previous comments, if you don't like them, don't buy the bait they are netting.
  2. Hi all, I have read a lot about people using chicken strips covered in parmesan cheese as a bait for bream. My question is what type of parmesan cheese are people using? Are people using fresh parmesan or the packet stuff that you put in a shaker. Thanks for any advice.
  3. Well done mate, There seem to be a few arrows around in Pittwater at the moment. I usualy get southerns, however, last outing they were all arrows. However, I couldn't convert them to kings, so again well done.
  4. Thanks heaps, hope the Fishing Gods are good to you.
  5. Thanks mate, It's only that I heard of another fisho being fined $250 for not having one. I was unaware of this requirement, is it new or has it been around for while? I try to get offshore to avoid the trawler infestation in Pittwater.
  6. Do I need an EPIRB to go offshore in Sydney? If so how far offshore. Cheers.
  7. No Good, I lost a worked XE-351 Falcon to scum like that many years ago. A lot of work and money for someone to think they have the right to take it off you. Just hope, like me, that Karma has a place in this world. Hope it turns up.

    No Wash Zone?

Thanks all for your replies. I think this guy was just having a bad day. I was not creating and waves that would damge the shore or be an issue to moored boats. Cheers, Stan.
  9. What is the correct description of a "no wash zone"? I went past a guy in a kayak the other day who put up more than a fuss as I passed him, however, I didn't think I was making much of a wake. Thanks in advance for any clarification.
  10. Thanks all, greatly appreciated.
  11. Thats ludicrous! Don't suppose you want to share some GPS co-ords (wink, wink) Great fish, well done.
  12. Hi all, Does anyone know the growth rate of a King fish? I know the legal limit has been increased to 65cm, for some reason, however, while I am catching and returning fish up to 65cm (which are still great fun) I wonder if they are being returned for a possible re-capture by myself at legal size or where do they go to grow? Just interested, as some of these fish a couple of years ago were helping feed my family. Kind regards, Ian.
  13. Done, Ridicoulous reason to ban fishing at Long Reef! I am absolutely sick of greenies throwing their two bob's worth whenever an opportunity strikes. Leave the average joe fisherman alone and go hug a tree. Ian.
  14. Great Squid, Nothing better, what feels like a snag or a bit of weed, then a pull in the opposite direction with a result like that. Well Done.
  15. Thanks all, much appreciated.
  16. Do Cuttle fish make a good live bait for kings? Been catching a few and throwing them back as I didn't know. Thanks for any advice.
  17. Great fish Kyle! Good to see you showing your dad up.

    Live Bait Tank

Thanks Mugen, I'm not too far from Smithfield, will have to pay Reflex a visit. Good luck on the Kings, let us know how the bait tank goes. Stan.
  19. Thanks mate, much appreciated. Glad I asked.

    Live Bait Tank

Mate that sure looks the goods, where did you buy the barrel and fittings?
  21. When mounting items to fiberglass, is the process the same as mounting to timber? i.e. pilot hole then stainless self taper screw (with silicone) or are there any special tricks? I am wanting to mount a bilge pump with a water pickup for a live bait tank. Thanks for any advice. Stan.
