Hi DGF I aint been to Avoca for years now as it gets to crowded. Are the crowds of ppl still bad up there??? and can you even float out a live bait without having 10 pilchards on floats or 10 guys spinning tanglin up with your line up at Avoca these days?????

Hi steve Yea ive heard about the Marlin that where caught off the Tubes at JB during the week around Australia Day public holiday they reckon 6 marlin between 80kg and 150kg where landed with many more bust offs and they have been getting some monster kings off Devils Gorge too from what ive been hearing. I aint fished JB LBG for over 10years as the people who fish it are TOOLS they take things way to serious and wave around knives and death threats if things dont go there way. Ive found heaps better other locations to fish with no crowds. Thanks for the info Steve

Hi All i was thinking of going purely live baiting with the big gear of the rocks next week some time weather permitting and was just wondering if anybody has caught or seen any decent fish of the Rocks in the last few weeks either up or down the coast. Theres alot of bait around lately and was wondering if anything bigger was hanging around it any information would be helpful I live in Campbelltown Im willing to travel as far north as Port Stephens or has far south as Ulladulla and if any1 is interested in joining me feel free to pm me
  6. Hi Aqua Ive caught bream, Whiting, Flathead and Blackfish at Kelso Park at Easthills all on squirt worms pumped out of the beach area at low tide and ive caught some big Talior there on live mullets. The best spot to fish Kelso Park is to wait till the tide is 2 hours of fully being low and go fish off the set of rocks exposed by the tide on the easthills side then leave as the tide gets to high for you to fish. This spot allows you to fish in the deep channel of the river with only a short cast but please wear spikes or clets on your shoes as this spot is very slimy and slippery
  7. I heard a rumour that a big cobia 20kg+ plus was caught off Stanwell Park beach on the weekend sometime. Has any1 else heard or seen this to confirm it???????
  8. If you can get yours hands on a Silstar Power Tip surf rod 12ft they are the best i find. They are light, long and can handle decent size fish with ease. Im not sure if they still make Silstar Power Tip Rods does any1 know if they do??????
  9. Nice Catch As long as they all get eatin there is nothin wrong with keepin ya legal limit on each species Well Done
  10. Well Done T Dog once you got the 1st they dont stop
  11. the swell and wind are surpossed to be good but they have forecasted rain for sunday and monday. avoca beach is a good fishing spot ive caught Talior, salmon, bream, whiting, dart, flathead and seen a bloke catch a monster jewfish there 1 evening about 3years ago using blackfish fillets Good luck buddy
  12. Well done Bez it sounds like you had a great holiday and got some nice fish too
  13. Hi all I went fishing this afternoon at Coal cliff the conditions where perfect for rock fishing. Is started off spinning some lures and caught a bonito and a watsons bonito in my first 2 casts so i set up and throw out a fresh slab on the bottom about half an hour later my drag starts peelin off and after a 20min fight i brang in a big eagle ray which i let go. While my bottom riged rod was in the holder i was spinning caughting a bonito every third cast or so but i just realsed them all. Just on dark as i was pulling in a bonito my bottom rod started to bite so i grabbed it and at the end was a 41cm snapper which made my day Bonito are every where at the moment a blind leper couldnt miss
  14. Where you fishimg in a boat or off the shore????
  15. Shoalhaven Heads is a good spot to catch Bream Whiting Flathead blackfish and jews plus you can pump ya own nippers there
  16. Hi Aaron By the way you explained the fight and runs you had on your lure it sounds like you hooked a Northern Blue fin tuna. They are travelling down the coast at the moment and i think you hooked one because Kings do short runs ie 50m or less towards the bottom normally. Any way it sounds like you had a fun day
  17. As far as i know Scrub worms are just a fancy name for big normal earth worms but i could be wrong
  18. Yea Steve ya right i was down at black rock today there where bonito and salmon and pike every where we got about 30 fish in 3 hours on lures where we only kept 3 salmon. I wont be doin much fishin myself now as i have a job and start on monday i will have to go fishing on the weekends with the crowds now
  19. Hi All I went fishing with my dad today down at bombo it was a perfect day weather wise. i started off spinning with lures and caught 3 bonito in 5minutes so i gave up on that as i have a freezer full of bonito for bait too last me to till summer. We started to fish the bottom with bonito and squid for bait, things where a bit quite till my dads rod bent over backwards and the drag was screaming after a 10minute fight running up and down the rock platform the fish ended up running him into a reef and the line snapped the way it fought it we reckon it would of been a kingfish around the 10kg mark as about 30mins later we had a king that size come up and steal a squid of a squid jig as i was realing it in At the end off the day we ended up with 3 bonito 1 salmon and 1 cuttlefish
  20. Hi Steven Since the seas are up this week i was thinking of fishing the Georges myself. I was gonna fish for blackfish along the rock walls at chippo lake if i can find weed tommorow. In the past ive seen blokes soft palstic fishing walkin the wall gettin the odd bream and flathead there. Give me a buzz if your interested i can come pick ya up if not tommorow maybe in the next few days Take Care mate
  21. Groper i dont take photos of what i catch unless 1 day i caught a Metre plus Kingie or a marlin or a massive jew. No offence ppl but Pics of bread and butter fish i personally think are boring but each to there own. During Autum and spring every now and again we get big hauls of Salmon on the south coast as they are breeding and chasing bait fish around headlands and beachs right at your feet. All the fish caught were spewing up pilchards and yellowtails

    Bombo

Hi All I went fishing with my dad today off the rocks at Bombo. The swell was huge but found a spot which was safe bit we got pretty wet still. We caught 1 bonito 1 Kingfish and lost count on the 72nd Salmon we caught . We only keept 3 Salmon and realesed the rest i reckon we got over 100 easy it was a top day out
  23. Bully Catch ya self some live bait and have it as a plan B just incase the kings dont wanna eat your lures that day. If you dont use the livies you can release them at the end of the day. Fish around struture to catch yaself a kingy
  24. Nice catch i reckon salted bonito is the best bait going around plus its always fun and cheaper to catch your own bait
