Regarding warranty, I have a 5 yr old lowrance lms-525 combo. during the warranty period 4 were replaced! Each time I asked if I was doing something wrong but the marine shop i bought it from would just say ' nah it's just the way they are we get heaps back! ' and replaced for a brand new unit each time no questions asked! So I would never buy one overseas. After sales service and supporting an Aussie company would be worth the 100 bucks to me!

Sounds like a bad connection. Check ALL of the connections in your battery cables, make sure they are clean and tight: 1. Terminals, 2. Lugs, isolator lugs, starter solenoid connection as it is commonly used as a junction post. 3. Earth cable / lug on engine block. 4. Condition of your cable at all of these areas (does it have corrosion in the copper?) 5. Follow all battery cables and check no one has put a joiner in previously. (they tend to attract corrosion) Remember to check any earth connections as well as they are as important as the positive cable. You could also check to see if the cable or connections are getting hot when you attempt to start it. (would point to the fault). Hope this helps. Good Luck.

Dont think so but not 100%. I will call into the local tackle store and enquire though, they have been quite good to talk to the last few times I have been down there. Heading down tomorrow arvo with the and 2 year old son. Could be an interesting trip Probably will need a fish by the time I get there!

I Have been down there the last two years at easter. got some nice snapper off the reefs in the boat and some flattys in the canoe but have never fished the beach. I know what you mean about the patience, I regularly fish with a mate and his 7 year old daughter. In the boat its easy to drive and change spots or grab some yakkers, not sure how you will go on the beach at night for entertainment between bites! Still he is at an age that he (and you) will enjoy and remember the trip! Good luck!

Is anyone heading around the culburra area over easter? Not sure wether to take the boat, canoe or hit the beach? Weather is starting to look a bit sus. If the weather looks good and i take the boat, might have a spare spot.

There were thousands of big mullet at molinex point today schooling up along the wall when I stopped in for a look. Spotted two big kings crusing with them. Jews may be hiding underneath???

G' day raiders! First time, long time! Went for a squid session at long bay in the yak this morning. Got there late due to trafic on the M5. But first cast a nice bait size squid. Thought I was on a winner as I had never fished this spot before. But four hours later only managed 1 more squid the size of my thumb! Has anyone squidded here before with any success? It looks pretty squiddy!
