  3. Hi folks i have purchasd a v150 natiglass open run about project boat being on a pension and very tight budget what older motor i guess it would be aroung 50/60 hp would be best to buy given the parts availability and cost is a priority thanks for any ideas :
  4. Hi guys i have purchased a project boat that has got a dt 50 suzuki on board and i was told that there seems to be an oil leak coming from around the power head at the front is this a problem and if so what do i do to rectify it thanks in advance
  5. hi trent if you have a boat just out side snapper island towards black rock is good for flat head and there good bait for just about anything but be carefull of the park zones
  6. gday mate we live down the bay and the wall is very hit and miss if you you dont mind a bit of rock fishing there is a nice platfor down at gurilla bay the cliff is steep but has man made steps put into it i havent fished there for years myself but i know a lot of people that seem to think its still good good luck on your trip and tight lines

  8. my experience is that they will get you on the plane quicker and are good in a river for skiing ect but i take them off for outside as i found that in a following sea they can make your boat handle differently and can have a tendency to grab and jerk in the wrong direction

  10. hi can anyone tell me the approximate weight of the average fiberglass hull without the motor i am going to remove and paint the boat but need to be able to lift it back onto the trailer with a sling or something as not to damage the new paintwork any help is appreciated

Hi STUBALL i have done a few repairs recently my self just looking at the photo it looks as if the holes go up well into the wood if this is the case you may have a bit of a rot problem if this is the case you would need to fill the timber with a filler and the run at least 6 layers of glass over the top starting with just covering the broken out area and increase each layer as you go so as to keep the shape and move out about 50mm either side onto the hull. Then i would cut the floor out through the middle the length of the problem area at least and put some timber runners down either side of the rotted peice of timber and thow a couple of layers of glass over it that will re strengthen the timber that has a problem hope this helps

  13. Can any one help me as to whether its worth while to respray my 4.5 glass boat it is in good sea worthy condition but is looking a bit tired scrapes and gouges ect. Any ideas on how much it costs and who i should get to do it i live in batemans bay so i am unshure how to go about it any help would be appreciated thanks warnie

  16. Hi folks i have an evinrude 70 hp with tight steering the motor turns easly by hand when i take the bolt out of the steering arm and the chrome rod that runs through the housing looks dry any ideas on how to fix this thaks warnie
