Hey mate it was most probley the run off from a big property with chemicals on the grass.. golf coures are sometimes to blame when we have heavy rain. All that run off flowing into the ocean, I would hate to think what is in the water at the moment! You should have taken a photo of the fish and said you had a great day out fishing..haha! Cheers

Yes Luke we should but only when you get a smaller boat, so you have sun stroke at the end of the day, salt stinging your eyes and maybe a sore back from the return trip...

Hey Dicko, I have a four stroke 70hp Yamy and I only went out about 50km this time..used 35 litres all day 5am to 6pm. Tank holds 70 litres and I carry 15 litres spare,I have only used the 70 litres once when I headed out to Middle Canyon from Terrigal and had to come back into a 30knot southerly..it was a 88km one way trip and I left the shelf at 3pm and got to Terrigal boat ramp at 9pm, getting soaked all the way back.. have to take the good with the bad I guess. Thanks mate...I do try and get out as often as I can, it is the best thrill hooking a Marlin and waiting to see what madness is about to unfold, what ever happens I try not to panic.. I don't use a paternoster rig, it's just a down rigger sinker tied off on the snap swivel. Cheers

Hey Tom thanks buddy, I was using live baits at the time but used to run 3 rods when using lures..got a double hookup once but it was a bit chaotic with 3 rods...two is enough! If you want mate have a quick look at my other video on Utube, POLYCRAFT SOLO MARLIN. Cheers Matt

Hey Andrew that's great stuff..that fish boat side looks like a pretty decent fish, if the stripe was bigger it must have been a cracker.... I,ll let you know how I go in the next few days, the guys reckon a few long liners came into the marlin grounds last night and smashed them hope their are still a few fish getting round, see what happens! I know it will be better than work Cheers Matt

Hey mate, hope your a lucky one with the saltist.. I got 3 mates with them and within 6months handles feel off, roller bearing problems and bail arm broke..not good when your away for a week catching good fish. maybe just keep that receipt. Hope yours is a good one..

Hey mate, we out jigging for kings a while back and caught a heap of Barracuda but found them to be very spikey and thought they were full of bones and no good to eat .. Did you eat it? and if so was it any good?

Hey mate I cant believe you travelled that far to fish up here in the 1st place, fishing at nite in Jerusalem would have been so cold but lucky your from Bathurst.. maybe next time head up to Coffs or some where up that way where you should get some nice fish.. mate I like the fact you never really gave up .. at least you still have your boat, could have been worse if you sunk... Yeah mate chucked the head back.. if you wanted to catch the sharks it was just to easy, 15ft Bronzies and some massive Tigers. Could'nt really be bothered fighting those big monsters.. wat to many sharks. Cheers Matt
