  1. Hey Steve it's a 4.55 Center Console with a 60 Yamaha, I love it.. I can't think of any bad things to say about the boats except when it rains in a center console you get wet but fishin is a water sport I guess.. Cheers Matt
  2. Mate we had showers in the morning and wind gust to 30knots ENE on a 2m swell, it took about 3.5hrs going out to cover 60km. On the way back it only took 1.5hrs as you can see in the photos the ocean got heaps better. I look forward to some nice weather for a change.. Cheers Matt
  3. Great stuff, beats work any day!!! That deserves a drink or two Cheers Matt
  4. Sweet nice fish off Sydney, with out the kingy traps they can now grow a bit bigger... great stuff for all us fishos. Cheers Matt
  5. G'day raiders this is my 1st post apart from a few replies.. Last weekend took my mate out to try and get he's 1st Marlin seeing he has been trying for a few years with out success. We headed out to the Shelf in rough conditions, lucky it started improve through the day because my mate nearly chucked his heart up! To his credit he never asked to go back in, about 11am we hooked a striped on lures but it threw the hooks.. After covering a lot more ground and a few more chucks over the side by my mate, we hooked up again on live bait about 5pm, a nice stripe about 80kg. All worth it in the end.. I've added a couple of photos. Cheers Matt...
  6. Mate thats the best!!! 1 doggie and Coral Trout like those and I would be satisfied for a long time.. very nice photos. Cheers Matt
  7. Hey Johnny, thats the best when you find a little spot like that where you can go and relax. Catching fish is a bonus, its great that you released the bream so hopefully you catch them next time.... Cheers Matt
  8. Hey mate it does really come down to U GET WHAT U PAY FOR.. If he wants to chase big kings then spend a bit more, the Shimano Stella 8000 is great and he wont be disappointed. I own an 8000 and 20000 & they have both done a lot of work, the 8000 from the US is about the $700 mark and its a good size, not big and not to small... Goodluck Cheers Matt

  11. Oh good stuff Ray, I tried double clicking on the photo with you and the red to enlarge it but it said your head was to big and would'nt let me do it..haha.. only kidding mate. We got 1 black Marin on sat but nothing today, C YA on the rocks maybe tommorrow. Cheers Matt
  12. Hey mate at least you had ago, thats the main thing! We went out chasing Marlin sat & sun, 12hrs both days & only tagged 1 black Marlin.. Alot of effort and money for 1 fish but you gotta have ago. Im sure you learnt a few things anyway. Cheers Matt
  13. G'day mate I've only just signed up to this but I've been fishing Avoca rocks for the past 20years and the fishing is no where as good as it used to be but still ok. Just be careful, seen a lot people get washed in and even on calm days slip in. Just remember Ray will save him self 1St.. haha. Mate a good spot is the haven at Terrigal only 5min away, safe for the kids and you can fish off the sand. Buy a few 10g lures 6lb braid or line and fish the right hand side of the ramp, little tuna - Leadies, great fun. Go on Sunday and watch the other guys and then head down during the week when the crowds arn't there. Have fun might see you round next week. Cheers Matt
  14. Hey mate, head down to middle head on the rocks cast over the weed and catch a few squid. You can put it out live or make strips and sit it under a float, try and fish a drop off and burley wont be a bad idea.. Another good spot is the spit bridge on the NE side, patience is needed until they come past.Cheers Matt
  15. Hey mate they are both good and I use both, 10lb finns for soft plastics. Caught plenty of reds to 7kg and never had a problem, it also last for a long time, haven't changed it in two years. Yellow is better than green, sounds weird but its got a smoother finish. Power Pro I use for jigging, 65lb & 80lb. Great line caught heaps of kings and even Marlin on it, highly recommend this braid in these two sizes. Hope that helps Cheers Matt
