mate i got a 5.2 half cab with biminy and clears, i go out a lot by myself, i always check what the wind is gunna be doing, which decides where i launch my boat, cause getting it back on the trailer by myself can be a bitch, so if its gonna be a windy retrieve, i launch at a ramp that i know is shelterd from the wind, cause my boat is like a sailboat tryin 2 get it back on in the wind. good luck

cant say ive heard of or ever seen any body pumpin nippers at kurnell, best is go 2 out the front of the sailing club just past taren pt bridge,its an early low tide then head out 2 kurnell, the best nippers you will find are at maianbar, bit of a hike though if u are going 2 kurnell. There still there gcc,but 2 get the bigger ones u need 2 get out into the water just b4 the weed beds start.

hey all, got up again the smorning 2 more wind but i was keen as, after mymate got a that kingy yesterday, so we headed over 2 mol pt again and found the kingys on the surface again, 2nd cast with a halco popper [gold with the dark back and red eyes] YEA HAA finally on 2 my first king,now i know what all the fuss is all about, damn it went hard on my 14 pound gear,zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz awsome fun, got it in the boat measured 57cm, can only imagine what a big 1 would go like ,like a bat out a hell, im sure, chased them 4 a couple more hours but no more takers, tried a few different poppers and other lures 4 no luck, oh well, just getting 1 was worth getting out there in the wind, fish was put back of course, if only it was 8cm longer, lol thats 3 trips in a row ive found them on the surface, chrissy day they were following the bonito up 2 the back of the boat, these ones were legal, threw some livies at them, but they were 2 smart, may have 2 go out again in the morning im on a kingy high now....lol

heyall , got up the smornin at 4am wind blowin a gail, messaged my mate 2 windy and called it off, drove down 2 sylvania holt rd ramp at 8.30 am and its like a lake so call mate back and we hit the bay at 9.30, head over 2 mol pt and of course when we get there bloody southerly hits, i knew it , any way theres plentyof tailor bustin te surface and we get a few of them on some little twistys, good fun, then the wind picks up even more,around 12pm we decide 2call it a day, white caps everywhere,cant c the fish any more, every little boil in the water looks like fish busten up....lol, start headin back in then we c a shit load of birds goin off there heads hittin the surface, got strait over there , mate throws a popper directly over them, i could c thefish come in be hind it in the swell of the chop, got on to a nice little 58cm king gave him a good fight on 10 pound gear,i was spewin had 2 keep the boat into the wind other wise it would just turn us around, well thats the first king landed on my boat, hopefully ill land my first 1 soon allfish were released, i got start remembering 2 take the camera.

hi all, just aquick report fromthebay the smorning, hit the water at 630 am, headed out2get some livies 4 no result,was hard goin in the wind and chop, any way trolled somelures around bare island and the northen pt of the bay 4 no result,saw somebig arcs on the sounder about 20feet down,big schools,pretty surethey were kings,the sounder was goin off itshead if only we had some livies, then we notice some fishjumping be hind the boat,nth westerlty wasblowin pretty hard , pulled out therod witha rooster popperi had already rigged up, was easy2 castthe other side ofthe fish with the wind behind me, then blurted it back threw the frenzy, it was a banito athon, awsome fun on lite gear, we got 8 bonnys in about 10 mins then they were gone, headed back in as it was gettin pretty rough out there in my 5.2 hinton, mate suggested sushimi , never had it b4, itell ya what imhavin a beer wathin the cricket, bonito sushimi with a bitof soy sauce and ginger, BLOODY AWSOME tasting, never had it b4, yum. the bonnys and the sounder readings were just off bare island would of been on the water at 6.15 but forgot the keys 2 the boat

Hi all i know this is not the corect page 2 be telling my story, but had 2 comment on the stingray story. About 2 years ago was fishing off lilli pilli in knee hi water, throwing some poppers around 4 some whiting which were all over the place, had a friend and her kids with me that were just playing around in the water about 20 feet away next 2 the boat, kids aged between 2and 6, i took 1 step and next thingi new it was like some one hit me in the ankle with a hammer,the pain was instant, think i was in shock at first, thinking wtf was that, i pulled my foot out of the water 2 find a hole just under my ankle with all this fatty tissue hanging out, from the rays barb that had hit me and pulled all the tissue back out, my friend couldtell some thing was wrong, but at that time i had no idea what the hell it was , having never been stung by a stingray b4, we got the kids back in the boat and headed back 2 the boat ramp at cronulla tonkin rd ramp, i got 2 tellya the pain from the stingray venom was pain ive never felt b4,, on the way back 2 the ramp i rang a mate 2 meet me there cause i knew i wouldnt be able 2 get the boat back on the trailer, all i wanted was something 2ease thepain, ud think it would go away after a while like when u get hit in the shins or something like that, but no, it just got worse, ive got this 5year old asking me all these questions on the way back 2 the ramp,why rod, why whyw why, i could hardly talk the pain was so bad ,i hate 2 think what it would of been like if 1 of the kids gotstung, i tell ya if i had of got hit in the chest like steve erwin i would of had a heart attack, any way mate turned up with his mrs, mrs took me 2 the hospital, cure 4 stingray STING hot water as hot as u can handle, takes the pain away almost instantly, mate never backed a trailor b4 lol, had fun gettinmy boat out 4 me, lol....ever since then i freek at every thing that touches my leg whenim pumpin nippers in shallow water, BE AWARE OF RAYS IN SHALLOW WATER ALSO at the hospital they didnt stich the wound incase it got infected, lol, a week later i got celulosis in my leg which is a blood infection.

hi all, just purchased a new downriggger in the hope of catching my first kingy this summer, was just after some advice on what size bomb i should use, i will be fishing in botany bay, any advise would be much appreciated, cheers rod, also how long should i run my line off the bomb

Hi all hit the water at grays pt at 6am,headed over 2 maian bar 2 pump some nippers,havnt been out onthe hacking 4 a while, been fishing the bay a lot,thought id try my normal spots....no luck just pesky pinkys, headed over nere ETs place nere the moored boats,not the sanctuary side, anddrifted the incoming tide, at first got a few snapper around the 25cm mark, back they went,then i was on 2 what i new was a tiddler then al of a sudden zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz wtf i thought, about aminute later i get it nerethe boat boat big head shakes all the way, its a nice 60cm flatty, atthis stage it takes off again zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz now in gettin worried about my 6 pound leader, didnt have 2, hook was str8 the the lip, funny thing was heres a 5cm pinky about halfway up the leader, hook had gone str8 thruhis head and come out the other side, he must of seen the flatty comin...lol drifted back again 6 bream 2 about 25cm and 1 at 30cm, all went back , kept the 30cm,also lost something big off gymea baths, bloody knot on hook let go was surprised how clean the water was after all the rain, flatty weighed in at 1.5 kilo cleaned. Dont no what happened 2 the weather they were talkin about was nice out there. wont let me put pic in, says file is 2 big. how do i get it on

hi raiders the mrs mum passed away back in september, wasnt a good time 4 all, now we find out she has left the house 2 her in landsborough, very nice of her 2 do so, so looks like we r packing ow bags soon. We will be about 20 mins from caloundra/maroochydore, just wondering if any 1 knows of any good fishing spots up there, boat and land based, ive looked up the area on google earth, looks like heaven 4 fishing....ps any 1 know of any work in the area..lol will be sad 2 leave here lived in the shire all my life, love fishing the hacking and botany.
