  1. Run in tide is the most productive.
  2. I've never eaten any fish caught from iron cove but have given legal sized fish to elderly fisherman with handlines fishing for a feed.
  3. Nice catch ! Largest one I've caught there was 55cm and that was in Summer.
  4. I try to get out there for a fish every weekend as I live close by. Last week's session I caught two bream. Three takes that pulled hooks due to amateur moments on my part. IC fishes ok at times, but there have been many donut sessions also. The chopper tailor do become annoying as they bite the tails off soft plastics but still entertaining when nothing else is biting.
  5. You should be right, just watch out for the big rats that live in the rocks.
  6. I regularly cycle along the cooks river, and so far most of the fisherman I've come across have buckets to keep their catch. It makes me cringe that they would eat their catch and feed it to their family members. I've even seen people fishing Alexandra canal which is off limits but the fisherman turn a blind eye to it. What I don't get is the break walls at the mouth of the cooks is only a stone throw away from Alexandra canal yet people think that it perfectly fine to eat their catch from there.

    Travel rod

Okuma x-factor 6'6" 1-3 kg. 4 pieces and comes with a rod bag and tube/carry case.
  8. I also noticed that if you buy a large pack of squidgees it comes with a larger tube of s-factor for the same price as the small pack.
  9. Nice catch ! At least in the rain, you would have been able to fish in peace. No distractions/comments from joggers/walkers doing the bay run.
  10. Asked to go for a quick fish, but got the death stare. :(

I know exactly what that looks like Kevsta.

  11. Squidgy bloodworm/wasabi wriggler in 80mm for bream and flathead & tailor. I've been having good success with flathead on atomic guzzlerz prong 2 inch. Gulp sandworm 6 inch, cut in half also works well with whiting and bream.
  12. If you're looking for a feed of fresh fish you're better off avoiding eating fish caught west of the Sydney Harbour bridge and the Cooks river which has contaminated sediment from industrial waste even though the water appears to look clean. There a signs posted up at these areas to warn anglers, although some people choose to ignore those warnings. Tom Uglys Bridge, Clifton gardens, Balmoral, Kurnell groynes, Dolls point, La perouse and the end of port botany can be productive areas to try.
  13. I use fluoro green coloured sunline super pe braid. I have no trouble seeing it amongst the water with polarised glasses on. Just use a longer fluorocarbon leader like what everyone else has suggested.
  14. My in-laws live in a house under the flight path and I hear that noise on the odd occassion and when I do, I'm looking toward the sky to try and spot the air force fighter jet, but could never see any aircraft. Thanks for clearing that up for me.
  15. Thanks for all your helpful replies, advice and humour. I'm going to try a batch with/without the garlic next time to see if it makes a difference. I'll definitely go lighter with the garlic though as it was quite strong smelling. This recipe makes me think about food when fishing. For burley, I'm using chicken pellets and staled bread mixed with sand. Thanks again.
