There didn't seem to be any weed about last night, although from time to time there was a cross shore current that was a bit annoying. I have been having problems with weed on northern Illawarra beaches - Coalcliff, Wombarra of late though.

Very excited tonight to have landed my first Jewfish. Caught using a pilchard on the rising tide at Wanda Beach around 9pm! Just over 50cm but a good start and hopefully a lot more to come. The moon came up and the surf calmed down and all of a sudden the action picked up. He gave a few short and exciting runs then made it into the beach - to my surprise it wasn't just another salmon!!
