Well done mate! We downriggednorth and south head fora total of 5 rats and 3 keepers. Was a little upset at some rock fishos catching a heap of rats and not releasing them. I think fisheries need a 1800 dob in a p$# number.

Same with me today! Downrigged all the markers in the harbour and MH. At one marker we had a heap of rat kings at the back of the boat but they would not take anything. We threw garfish, sluggos and live yakkas at them, they would follow but not strike. Will keep at it!

That's a shame. Maybe fishraider should open a section where shops can post prices as I rang around all my local stores. And that price I quoted was the cheapest. Some were selling tje 585 for $2900. Would be great to log on and find all shops prices in one place!

Cheapest I found the tm260 is $1100 furuno 585 $2100 Sports brackets $189 that's $3389 $800 savng

Hey mate with the Aussie $ so good I got it from America, paid $2600 delivered. That included the tm260 1kw transom mount transducer and the sports bracket. Just get on $$$$$$$$$$ and have a look. There's heaps selling them. Payment threw paypal so you can't get ripped either.

Hi Jim thanks for the reply. I have to rip out my old sounder and transducer and replace with the 585 and a 1kw transducer, I'm not to keen on drilling into my boat as not to mechanically minded. Would really appreciate a number of a mobile installer. Thanks

Hi mate maybe do a post and follow someone out there, make sure your boat has the ability to do at least 60nm on a full tank of fuel (a 20ltr tank of spair fuel won't help if your stuck out there) there are plenty of good wind reports out there, just never count on just 1. Life jackets, epirb and flares a must! And after all that pray the fish are on cause it's a long drive if there not!!! Chris

Hey Mate, we fished browns as well (I was one of the 60 boats out there in the parking lot today) Could not get our rigs down to the bottom cause of the million gemfish sitting 20m above the bottom! We were getting sharked at 90 meters on nearly every drop. Must be a shitload of makos down there due to the gemfish floating all over browns, I believe the bag limit does more bad then good! -

Hey guys, if the fish are really shy, buy some plastics called eyes from your local tackle store. There about 2 cm long, bright green in colour and always seem to work when everything else fails,
