Don't bother with the blue fin they are not here yet. Most of the longliners are at bermi, only one has been fishing north at coffs only a few rats and big eye. Besides they are in 1200f anyway. Current has been at least 3kt at the mountain.

A mate said to me once don't wait for the news go out and make some, if the weekend pans out weather wise im going & probably bottom dong browns aswell.
Havent had a feed of Blue eye or gemmies since last year, either way it will be good to get out there.

Well much to my disgust I just got told by my boss I have to work tomorrow & he cant do without me, I hate my boss now.
I hope all that are heading out tomorrow have great success & ill be thinking of you all out there tomorrow.

Good to see some positive feed back guys, this is what good forums are all about, some great guys on fishraider.

Hey guys just wondering what some of you think about the SST charts just wide of Sydney.
Plenty of chatter of good water off eden & bermi & looking like good season already but the way its looking off Sydney is almost similar. Im tossing up whether to take the boat and launch off bermi or wait & see what the charts show in the next couple of days and pehaps head out off Sydney instead.
About this time in the last two seasons we were getting them off Sydney. What do you guys think love some feed back on this.

I must say I have for a long time pondered the Suzuki motors & have heard a lot of good things about them. Perhaps my next boat will have a Suzuki on it as I do a lot of offshore fishing.
Yes the dollie was a beauty & was a fantastic season, I just hope its the same with the fin.

That's pretty impressive fuel economy Billy My 90 etec averages about a nautical mile per litre. What type of four stroke have you got ?

You & your dad are top guys for sharing the info, hope to hear more reports as the fish migrate north & hopefully it wont be to long before they hit our waters up here off Sydney, just hope the weather plays it part to.

That sure is good news iv been getting updates from bermi bait & tackle on facebook and fingers crossed its going to be as good a season as the last two, iv been hanging for a tuna again.

Yes I generally buy bulk & I did think that it works out pretty much the same plus etec services are 300hours compared to 100 for the 4strokes if im correct, but im very happy with the etec indeed & its done 700 odd hours and don't miss a beat

I have an etec 90 on my trailcraft & I must admit its been very very reliable not to mention very good on fuel, the only down side is the price of oil for them.
Would love to see what they have coming up.

I have 2 tiagra50w set up with 1000 mtrs of 80lb braid top shot with a P R knot approx. 50-60 mtrs of 100 pound mono finished with a bimini twist and double cats paw to a 170lb snap swivel.
The last marlin I caught was a Blue Marlin approx 190kgs. No dramas at all.
Have also caught many school tuna with this set up and has not failed me yet & from memory I think HODGEY or one of the admin told me about this not for braid.
In my opinion a great set up strong and reliable only problem you might find if any other guys on your boat have mono and you get a double hook up & lines cross your mates going to get cut off and upset with you lol
All my game rods are set up this way.
But you will find most game fishos only use mono.
