I agree, regardless of the legalities, it's pretty rude. I don't know about bombing them with sinkers or blooding the waters or taking their boat for a tow, but surely there are other spots on the reef, or other spots altogether to dive if someone's there. If I were on the dive boat, I wouldn't want to dive around lines.

Awesome catch and great pics of the kids too. Nothing like getting the little ones out with you. They look like they love it. Congrats on the PB too.

Yeah, we went after work late last year and although the water seemed pretty warm, it was slow then too. We fished around the bridge to North Richmond (just down from the BP) and there were quite a few mullet jumping then too. Shame we didn't have the right gear with us...

If that's a slow day on your side, when are you running a trip? Good work if you ask me and it's good to see you're as keen as. Nothing like a questionable motor pulls you up ehs? Hope you had oars though (edit: Just saw the oars in the pics), looks like a decent swim back.

Ohs, that brings back memories of family holidays to the bottom end of Tasmania. Flatties and crabs. Good haul you have there. I'd be happy with that.

I'll second that. Totally converted and looking forward to the Social Day. Especially after I got the month mixed up and thought it was this weekend and I'd have to give it a miss. I'm sorted now though. We're on.

Madsmc: Thanks for the reply. I wanted to pick up some braid before I went yesterday but the funds were a bit low. Getting paid tomorrow so that'll be solved. Even got approval from the boss so that's a big step forward. SiNH: Besides the sunscreen and a long sleeve shirt, the camera was another thing I forgot but has since been attached to the tackle bag just in case. Bring on the next RDO ehs? Can't wait. We were heading up to the entrance chasing the incoming tide for a bit of early morning fishing and bugger me if it didn't start raining within the last 15 mins of the trip up. We ended up going to Woy Woy and fishing off a jetty. It was off to the left hand side heading towards it and at the end of a straight along the obviously man made wall (sorry it's not more specific but there was a green power box or transformer on the side of the road). I know there's a bus terminal there, or at least a number of busses parked there, and a fisheries office with a trawler (?) tied up out the back. As the tide comes in, the water really moves and we picked up quite a few fish there, some starfish and a couple of squid so there seems to be a fair few fish up that way for sure. None were legal but it kept us busy. Click Here for the actual report.

Morning Guys, You might want to try Campbelltown Fishing Scene on (02) 4625 5809. I was looking for a cotton cordell, after it was recommended to me for Bass, for a while and I know there are still a few in his shop at the moment. If he's got them and you can't get out this way I'm happy to pick some up and post them out (also hoping to go to the social day if that helps). Hope it's not a dud lead. G'Day - What a day. Woke up this morning with the usual schedule and I was checking out the forums when I got an MSN notice. Cutting a long story short, I headed off to swordfisherman’s house where I loaded my gear in to his car and off we went. 30 mins later we’d launched the boat and headed across the river to wet the lines. We trolled the banks for some time with no interest until we just past Cabramatta Creek. We took the right hand fork in the river (8 Knots) up under the bridge and wet the line just before the passage opened back out to the main river. We trolled along the banks from here to the weir just off Liverpool railway station again with very little interest. The water temp was reading 30.8oC so this might have something to do with it. We saw quite a few fish around and there was a nice garfish just off the weir, but no takers. Swordy had no trouble eyeing off the fish while I was struggling so I’ve added polaroid sunnies to the list of must haves along with the fireline (couldn’t feel half as much with mono). Highly recommended. On the way back upstream we noticed HEAPS (lots and lots and lots) of small “livies” (small feeder fish) all along the banks (more than 8 little schools) so there was obviously nothing decent around. Skipping a small section we trolled the bank and now around 4:30pm we started getting bites. Swordy landed a few bream before I got anything attached to the line that didn’t leak sap. The bream ranged from keyring sized up to around the mid 20cm’s I’d say (none measured). It was all about learning to cast properly for me although I did get smashed once. At first I thought it was a snag, but snags don’t wiggle about. I lost it half way back in so I still don’t know what it was. Crossing over to the other side part way back to take advantage of the overhanging trees, then back again a bit before the bridge at Warwick Farm, Swordy picked up a few more bream and I lost a few right next to the boat (I saw these Bream so I know they were really there – promise). We knocked off at about 6:40pm and it was great day out on the water. It was a massive tide and the water temperature probably didn’t help, but was cool, it gave me time to cast a few test shots and learn to stay out of the tree’s and snags. I even lost two of his lures and only one of mine and he’s still smiling. What a great bloke. A BIG THANKS to Swordy for the Deckie position and the advice. BTW: Say Hi to the couple on the ramp fishing for Mullet. Apparently they’re there a lot. Keep the lines tight and hope to see you out there soon. Muddy4x4 (Mark).

It's a bit late now, but in case someone else reads this to solve their problems at a later date, Narva do a nice set of waterproof LED tail lights. They're great to boat and camper trailers due to the low maintennance and low current draw. Also, we get a fair few trailer issues at work and it's mostly bad earths, followed by dodgy connections or stuffed wires. Good to see you got yours resolved.

Even enlarged it looks like driftwood to me. You didn't crop the wrong half of the pic did you? *jokes*

We caught something like that snorkelling only this thing wasn't red and it had 6 (either 6 or 8) legs. Weirdest thing I've ever seen. It can walk, swim or kind of fly underwater. Never seen anything like it before, or since (till now)...

What's more, if you're not 100% satisfied, you can have your money back (You can keep the info but there's no steak knives though, sorry). Seriously, I've already picked up a few things and I've barely been here a week, not to mention that I've been chucking a line in for years. It's especially handy cause a mate of mine was already a member and we've just graduated to soft plastics and hard bodied lures. We were all bait fishing up till recently so it's a whole new ball game and the fun starts all over again. I give it two very enthusiastic thumbs up. Besides, I'll bet everyone on here's more interested in picking up a fish or two than eachother.

Well said. Maybe it's just a matter of getting a deckie that knows what they're doing that might be able to show you a thing or two. Maybe there's something you're doing that's close, but not quite there. You could also try coming out on the social day coming up to see what others are up to. Hang in there. Not many people are great at something without a lot of sweat and time. Cheers, Mark.
