  5. I fish at Talbingo Dam & Blowering Dam in the Riverina NSW mostly trolling Tassies etc but would like to give Ford Fenders a go ! Any advice on techniques with leader lengths, lures or baits, trolling speeds , depths to fish at etc etc would be appreciated
  6. This App is very ordinary !! Eg 1. Lake Conjola NSW artificial reef - no co ordinates shown 2. Trout bag sizes & limits ( brown & rainbow ) not accurate !!!!!!
  7. I have used grass cuttings in a sand burley mix ! Caught some blackfish and grass was in their stomachs when cleaned etc It works and I use it when weed / cabbage is not readily available
  8. Interestingly the predicted best fishing times do vary at times between the yellow book Almanac & this Fishing Calender app It therefore does make you wonder
  9. Thanks for your help Ritchie
  10. Sorry to have called you flat head, I mean't RichieR !!!!!!!!
  11. Thanks Flathead but I can't seem to track it down ! When I search " fishing nsw " all I get is one from OK Industries that only shows fishing spots , regulations, boat ramps etc but no almanac Can you let me know the exact name showing on the app " icon " Many thanks as it sounds like what I'm looking for !!
  12. Does anyone have an I Phone App that corresponds with the printed Anglers Almanac ie the little yellow book ? There seems to be a few Apps out there but they differ from the yellow book's predictions etc ! Incidentally I am a believer in the yellow book Almanac !!!
  13. Does anyone have an idea to improve the smoothness of the drag on small spin reels at the cheaper end of the market ? Eg adding more drag grease to all washers or smoothing the metal washers with super fine emery cloth Any suggestions would be welcome, just trying to get the most out of my $ 30 reels etc
  14. Hi fellow lovers of fishing ! Any thoughts on the value of the Anglers Almanac booklet. I'm a sceptic but my brother is a great believer having used it for something like 20 years. He reckons that, by way of example, at those " peak " times you can definitely see an increase in surface activity etc, We were fishing together just recently at Narooma around the oyster racks up river and it was absolutely dead not even any pickers for about 2 hours but at the Almanac's peak time for the day which was a good hour after tide change and mid afternoon , within half an hour we picked up 3 good bream , then it died off again !! Would love to hear your comments
  15. I'm off to Forster in March for a month and because of a knee operation I won't be able to scramble around the rocks to get some cabbage ! Anyone know where I can get some weed up there etc Thanks for your help
