  7. jeez im smiling! Rockfisherman u legend thanks for the very generous offer and id be happy to pay any costs my son will be stoked ive been putting him off for 2 months now to do some fishing in reply to my cleaning method well after each outing i would just run a cold tap over it /shake it off and then dry it off as far as i know if i actually open it up warranty is voided im just annoyed that its obviously so easy for salt to get right inside where i really thought would be a sealed unit like i said my previous baitcaster lasted a good 5 years and probably several hundred outings and was treated the same way it only stuffed up when i lent it to a mate and the thumb release broke and parts werent available thanks so much for all your help guys and really big thanks to Rockfisherman for his beautiful offer ill send u a text cheers

  9. Bought a new baitcaster just before Xmas to replace my old faithful of 10 plus years not being too rich i spent around $150 on what i believed was a trusting brand over xmas /new year i used it approx 6 or 8 times after each sesh id give it a good rinse in fresh water dry her off and put it away for next time before easter i went for a fish and noticed the drag and gearing didnt feel quite right [ a bit clunky] so i took it back to place of purchase and they in turn sent it in on warranty now 8 weeks later after numerous [we are waiting on parts excuses] i get the call Sorry but you reel is severely corroded inside this is not a warranty issue the parts will cost nearly the same as a new reel what do u want us to do sir !! Now my points to them was hey i washed the reel after each outing my previous reels have lasted years not months just how the hell could u prevent this if i cant open her up and waterblast her out because id void my warranty There offer on a 10-20% discount on a new reel was a joke as if id buy the same piece of S$#T again so now im screwed no money to buy a new reel well at least for a while anyway dont know if i can name this brand but i sure as hell will be telling everyone fisho i know to steer well clear of there rubbish as for my local fishing shop well im pretty pissed off with them as well D@#$A = CRAP rant over cheers all
