  1. Had the same thing in the harbour on monday found the rats took to aliking to white stick baits, the fish were rounding up & eating small white bait hope that helps
  2. Man the water is warmer in close than the sydney FAD & to here dolphin fish at the heads to dobroyed head WOW, had a ball on kings the other day all around nth harbour & i must say that one of them straightened my lure clip on my 8pound gear that was on my new stradic ci4 2500 , i must say i pulled out the lighter gear when there was so many rats, but this one must have been bigger. Ill give this much the 2500 stradic ci4 has got some grunt for a little reel, what a way to break it in .I didnt meanchin on our way home i had to have a go at the wreck just off what i call quarintine pt on knife jigs im glad i did but all were undersize kings, got off the water a lot later than was expected. But what a day nth harbour has fish everywhere, out there all next week as im on holidays hope there is some size to the dolphine fish, but cant complain as i said my arm was sore heaps of fish just a few more legal ones would be good. Come on next week & hope the weather is as good as this week minus the northerly winds
  3. Went out to the FAD outside sydney on Monday, got there about 9am fished the fad for dolphin fish, trolled all the way only got a stripped tunar. Got to the FAD first cast hooked one but it got off it was under size (ohwell). Then nothing tried about 25 lures & some bait nothing more sounded around the FAD showed really nothing just wondering any one had better luck than I did, it paid off going to longreef for kingfish that were legalsize not like all the rats in the harbour by the way my arm is still sore from all those rats better than none at all
  4. Mate first off all i agree with florocarbon leader its invisible in the water & the colour braid would be pink or red. Pink & red are the first colours to disapear in water the deeper it goes in the water colomn, something to do with how it reacts with the light in the water.Red & pink become nearly invisible the deeper it goes. Yellow is good to see where your braid is but the fish see it aswell. Green is another good colour but not as visible as yellow. Thats my opinion ask at your local tackle store as they were the ones who put me on to red or pink because i had trouble with leatherjackets in winter one year eating my varied couler braid that was a different colour every 10metres when i bottom bashed. I now use red braid with no more hassles from leaterjackets when chucking lures outside, hope that helps just ask the local boys at the tacklestore cheers
  5. ive caught them in Sydney harbour on fresh squid & weighted stick baits but not that size well done. I think when we get the lick of warm water they show up
  6. Off on holidays in 1week hope i catch some about that size would be good. Great pic will be looking around the heads see how i go
