  1. Hi Peter, I have never used a scent blazer only other brand lures and i have great success with them. Do scent blazers actually out fish other trolling lures?
  2. G'day buddy, I've iq Ed 5 boats I we the last 3 years in both fibreglass and plate aluminum. There is no question that glass rides better and is better on your body. That is why companies like crusher and surtees have ballast technology which helps sit the boat deeper and heavier to try and compete with the ride of a glass boat and they still can't match it. After doing test drives in 6 different boats in the 6-7m range I have just purchased a sea hunt 207 triton with a 150 yammie 4stroke. I do most fishing off shore and love the fact that it has a head in it. The flared bow keeps this boat extremely dry and clears keep me even dryer. Mate look over in the states they build the best boats value for money. Nz also have a Haines hunter ss660 which is an amazing boat but at $100,000 Nz plus shipping and duty is a little steep. This is their best trailer boat for game fishing feature wise, ride wise and safety wise. Otherwise like I said buy from the US while our dollar is still high. Tight lines
  3. G'day Mate, Congrats on the boat. If you drive 30 mins nth up toterrigal and launch from there you will have a better shot of hitting game fish. The shelf isn't too far off terrigal, the ramp is pretty easy to launch from and safe and the bar is rather safe. I caught my first marlin off 5m cc aluminum it's not so much the size of the boat it's the weather. Get a good day and go for it. But yourself some skirted lures and put in the time you will hook up. Tight lines. D
  4. Legend buddy great catch

  6. G'day mate, I have caught many striped marlin over the last few years in everything from a 6inch polukai to a 12 inch Pakula wombat. So it isn't so much a specific lure more like being in the right place, trolling g at the right speed and using extremely sharp hooks. My best hook up rates occur after I sharpen all my hooks. You would be suprised at how effective sharpening your hooks will be. Hope this helps mate keep it up and I'll nail them. D Ps I have caught many on both single and double hook rigs and it seems there isn't a major difference in hook up rates.
  7. G'day mate, 24kg plenty and the extra Line is of huge importance. Even a small stripe can take 400m before you blink let alone a biger marlin. I've been down to my last 100 m on ma y occasions and I ha e well over 800m on my outfits. Never fished braid on these reels but if others have give it a go. I'd probably get my fingers sliced off I I ran it on an over head. I fish braid only on my stellas for trolling. V effective as you get loads of line. Good luck and tight lines
  8. G'day mate heard lots of these problems. I only use Stella's and have never had a problem. Yes they ate more expensive though will last longer and have less problems if looked after well. Tight lines
  9. Congratulations mate that looks like a great fish. D
