  1. Was thinking of the aluminium floor. Will the carpet stick ok? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Hi Paikea, are you able to tow with that cover on? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Just checking back with results. The stag paste seemed to do the job until pressure built up in the tank and the fumes managed to work its way through the join. I tried a military grade 2 part epoxy that a mate gave me and so far it has held. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Paikea, can you put up a photo of your cover showing how it attaches to the gunwales? Berleyguts, I have the press stud arrangement and I'm always replacing them as the salt builds up around the and they fall off. I've never lost a fish to a press stud though. Who is the supplier you have in mind? I'm looking to get my cover re done as the sun has claimed it. Cheers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Hi raiders, It's time to repair the floor in my vessel. The original floor is carpet over marine ply. I'm looking for recommendations whether to replace it with the same or if there is a better way to do it. Also if you can recommend outlets where to get the best prices for material. I am thinking of adding another under floor fuel tank while the floor is up. Does anyone on here make them? Next on the list is a new windscreen, live bait tank and storm cover. All suggestions welcomed. Cheers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Great read, awesome fish to take home to the mrs. Well done mate. Were you using yakkas or squid? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. West head? Where's that?? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  8. Hey guys, I've always thrown sweep back in until recently. A mate of mine said they make good sashimi. He caught one last time we were fishing together and he happened to have the soy sauce with him. He prepped one up there and then, and it was good. I have since tried them cooked and they are good too.
  9. Good point about the weight factor oz_brett. I think I'll be cleaning them before freezing from now on. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Hey Fab1, I applied the stag today. Does this paste go hard or does it remain flexible? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Might be a bit hard to rough up as the hole is threaded. Will that matter? Also how long does it take to set? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Hey raiders, Banana boat now make a 50+ sunscreen and I use on the boat regularly. I in fact used it yesterday and still caught a feed ( and many throw backs). My fellow raider used his own sunscreen, don't know what it was, and he went home fishless! Had nothin to do with the sunscreen though, ay mate!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Thanks fab1, judging by the label it will do the job. Cheers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Hi raiders, When do you guys prefer to clean your fish? I was always brought up to clean them when I got home from a fishing session, before freezing them. I notice when you buy fish from the fish shop/market they clean them right when you buy them. When I asked why they were not cleaned already I was told its because they remain fresher. When I think about it, each time I catch a keeper it's put on ice right away. When I get home they are still 70% frozen so I bag them and freeze them as is. So far there have been no complaints about the taste of the fish on the table. Mind you they don't stay long in the freezer. What are your thoughts on this? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Great underwater picks there Pete. Looks like a great day fishing for all. What sort of camera do you use for underwater footage?
  16. What a top bloke. Was in middle harbour yesterday but didn't see him anywhere. Was blowing a gale though. Funny how he likes to visit the nude beaches. Where do the nudists keep their money?? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Damn I missed the write up in smh. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Thanks for the feedback guys. Zook, where would I buy stage jointing paste from? I bought these tanks from bias boating. The fitting that needs glueing is at the top of the tank. Seems a shame to throw away before at least trying to repair. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Testlab, they have been like that since new. They originally came with a o ring but the fitting wouldn't tighten enough to seal with it. I have found it hard to find the same size and shape tank as these ones. They are perfect size to fit under the shelf of the transom. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Thanks everyone for the feedback. Rich that's a pretty good list of coffee shops there. I'm going out for coffee now! Cheers.
  21. Hi raiders, I have a couple of portable reserve tanks for unleaded fuel. The tanks have a threaded hole in them for which to screw in the hose attachment. The problem is the attachments don't seem to tighten up in the threaded hole. I have tried using thread tape and silicone but they still leak when the tank is under pressure. I glued them in using hot glue from my rod repair kit and it set the fitting in nice and firm. Until today when I filled them up the glue reacted to the petrol and the fittings came loose and started leaking again. Any suggestions what else to use? Cheers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Q stn is at quarantine beach. It's the first beach to the north has you come in through the heads. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. So, where does this bloke normally set up in middle harbour? Is he easily recognised? Tasksta, it the coffee shop in Watsons bay where Doyles restaurant is?
  24. Sureangler, do you mean parks his boat in the worst place on the street? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Hi Raiders, So many times I have been out on the harbour longer than anticipated and thought, a coffee would go down well right about now. The only coffee shop I know of that is accessible from the water is at Q station. If any of you know of any other coffee shops accessible by boat in the harbour anywhere from Gladesville to Spit, Manly and anywhere in between please share. Cheers.
