  1. Nice catch mate, I think I might have seen you trolling around north head around 9am. Sashimi looks real nice. I'm surprised you didn't hook up a dolly as they were all over the place on Saturday.
  2. Nice Kings there Pete, pity about the marlin. I was out Saturday and dollies were in close right between the heads. My mate and I caught about 30 each in roughly 2 hours using SP's on light gear. Biggest was only 53cm though but great entertainment watching them jump around. I hope they stick around for the summer.
  3. Hey Peter, I am definitely interested in meeting up for a fish. Cabarita is perfect for me. Let me know when you have space and how many $$ to chip in. Weekdays will require a few days notice if possible. Looking forward to it. Dave.
  4. Great catch Pete, does $99 include postage? And an "out wide" demonstration?? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  5. Hey, even the photo in the first post says limited quantity left! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Marto, I remember when I last looked at the item listing it said there were only 3 left. I have seen these on ebay for over a year. Since writing about it here others have possibly decided to buy it. The brand is "MAXEL". Try googling it and see if you can find another supplier. Good luck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Yeah mate, it's a solid unit. No plastic what so ever. It's bigger than I expected with its long boom. Looks indestructible. I was contemplating getting another one but I don't think I would ever wear this one out. As for the counter, maybe contact the seller and ask if there is an option to chose the one in metres instead of feet. But honestly counters are cheap and readily available at most tackle stores. Overall I have been looking at down riggers for over a year now and always check different tackle stores and search online. This one was best value for money as it came with everything but the bomb. It even came with the attachment to sit it in the existing rod holder in the boat. It's five stars from me! (Keep in mind I haven't used it yet). If you end up getting one let me kno your thoughts. 8. Hi Scratchie, I too would love some advice. I just arrived in Anna bay today and I have my little car topper with me. I'm looking at fishing around Taylor's beach area with the kids for some bream, flattys, etc or whatever goes. Thanks in advance. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Got my down rigger in the mail yesterday. I must say I am every impressed with the quality. Can't wait to put it to good use. Only disappointing thing though is the depth counter is in feet and it's counts backwards as you let line out and forwards when you reel line in. MV did tours come with the same counter? 10. Hi everyone, I'm looking at heading out early Sunday if the weather holds. Looking for some advice on where to find yakka's and squid for some live baiting. I have so far been unsuccessful in finding any. I'll be launching west of the Harbour Br and heading out. Happy to trade your local knowledge in exchange for some boat fishing. Cheers.
  11. Hi everyone, I am looking at buying a downrigger and found this on ebay. Does anybody have one of these or know anyone who has one and if its worth the money? Cheers.
  12. Can Somebody confirm species, legal size and bag limit. Thanks.
  13. I will need a hand to hitch the boat on so if someone could be at my place in the blacktown area around 5ish. Byo gear would be better. I will have some gear on board obviously. Would like to try fishing for livies before heading outside. PM me if still keen.
  14. Hi Raiders, I'm all set and ready to go and my fishing buddy has called in sick. Looking for someone to join me for an early start tomorrow. Looking at going out to longie from Syd Harbour if the weather permits.
  15. Hi Raiders, I'm looking to invest in some crab traps but don't kno anything about them. Any advice on type, cost, tactics would be greatly appreciated. Also, are crabs a seasonal catch or are they a year round? Cheers.
  16. Thanks Testlab, Anywhere in Brisbane waters is fine. Thats where I'll be heading out from anyway. I will call up those marina's you mentioned to check their availability but I bet they will be quite pricey. I was hoping to find somebody with a private mooring and put some cash in their pocket instead.
  17. I am looking to take my boat up to Terrigal over Christmas but I have nowhere to park it so I am looking to moor it somewhere around Terrigal. If anybody has a swing mooring or a Berthing at a marina that they will not be using and want to lease it for a week or two let me know. Its for a 6m half cab runabout. Alternatively if anyone has a suitable storage facility let me konw too. Cheers, Dave.
  18. Gday Fisheroo, I was out there on thursday, perfect weather, saw heaps of thumb sized baitfish when the water was @ 23deg. I was hooking up stripey tuna all day. I even hooked a marlin around 2.30pm 5ks from the heads. It was on 10kg line so i had no chance of boating it. It jumped up and did its little dance then waved goodbye. I couldnt even persue it as I was very low on fuel. I guess the fish are in very close at the moment so if you find the stripeys, chances are there is something large chasing them. Also caught a few undersize dollies north of the fad. Saw a fair few dolphins around too so the fish could be a bit spooked. Good luck on Sunday mate, I bet there will be heaps of boats out there. Dave.
  19. Sorry HM, was out fishing all day yesterday. Just saw your message now. Conditions were perfect yesterday. Hope you had a good one today. Let me know how you go. Let me know next time you have room for one or two more. Cheers.
  20. Greetings fellow fisho's, I have been boat fishing since I was knee high. I must say though, these days I find it hard to locate fish. I guess I am out of touch with the fish. Anyway I am looking to learn the tactics to land some dollies so if you have the knowledge and the time, I am keen to get out there and learn. Whether you want to ride in with me or along side in your own boat, I'm happy to do either. I'd like to start from scratch and learn where to catch the yakkas and squid, then head out offshore for those Dollies. I have all the gear necessary and my boat is a 6m Quinny. I've been reading the forums and can see the action is quite good at the moment. I usually launch from Sydney Harbour/Parra river but Willing to go where the fish are. I'm good to go any weekend and possibly weekdays. Cheers, Dave.
