This is one issue im gonna have to work out before i get my boat, I got no where to put it other then in the drive way out the front. Might have to built a cage around it with barbed wire over the top and 1million volts running through wire...oooh yeah try and take it now baby ! Bad luck on the clears bud, can you jus get them made at a perspex manufacturer? Lowlife scum, but there always gonna be around, nothing much we can do except for keep everything locked away. Hope the fishing is better next time bud !!

Hey Raiders, Just thought id let everyone know that im heading out tonight to do some jewy chasing. Will most probably be heading out towards the harbour again. I will be leaving work early today to head out to the harbour and start loading up some bait. Im hoping if i get there in time i can get onto some late afternoon Kingies as well before we wake up the Jew. Sounds like a plan. Ill go get some 40lb fluro leader and give it a go. Ive heard go lighter before, i did a few weeks back and got smoked twice in one night. Upgraded back to 80lb and nothing, so maybe just put more pressure on the fish in the initial running sstages. Thanks mate, Mr.KingSpooled

Hey Raiders, Basically im after someone who can show me some tips and techniques on catching jews and king fish. I dont own a boat. I love my fishing through and through, i fish atleast 6 times a week (i do have a job but ill get out there at night no matter wind,rain,hail or shine). Ive been out for the last couple of weeks chasing jew's. Ive fished for them really hard and have only managed 2 bust off's at most. I was hoping if someone wouldnt mind being my mentor and showing me everything i need to know on catching these illusive fish. I dont mind paying someone for there advice and help. Iam a very quick learner and i dont mind trying new techniques at all. I listen well and try very hard to do as Im told. Im 21 years old with a healthy knowledge on bread and butter fish, but seriously i think everyone knows how to catch bream and flatties lol. I would really really appreciate it if someone would be able to help me out in this category. But this is what i use. - 12ft 8-12kg Surf Platinum Ugly Stick - Daiwa Saltist 6500H Spin/Jig Reel spooled with 550m of 50lb Suffix Braid - 80lb Fluro Carbon Leader - Gamagatsu 5/0,6/0 Octapus Circle Hooks You think i need to change anything?

Hey Raiders, The info on this thread is great. Espeacially for me as im new to chasing jew's (started 2 weeks ago) and so far no luck. Well we have caught 2 jew's 1 of 5kg and the 2nd of 6.5kg's. Only problem was it was caught on my mates rod who I fish with. Yet not on mine. I dont think im doing anything WRONG but i know i can improve my technique some how to make my hook up rate just that little bit better. I currently use a 12ft Platinum Ugly stick with a Daiwa Saltist 6500H spooled with 550m of 50lb Suffix Braid ontop of that i use about 2 - 3 metres of 80lb Fluro Carbon leader (its surprisingly thin for how heavy it is). I use this with a running anchor sinker with a slide, from the swivel infront of the slide i usually have about a metre of leader that goes to a 5/0 - 6/0 Octopus Circle Hook. I dont use snell rigs as yet because i cant tie them very well, but my mate has been using the same setup and has been picking up some good quality fish. Ill usually slap on a freshly caught squid or live squid and if thats not around live yakka or butterflied yakka ! I get a good cast out and let it sink, tighten up the slack and wait for the bite. Does it seem that Iam doing something wrong? Or is it that I just have to put in the hours and the fish will come. My mate who i fish with has been fishing for jew's since he was little and knows everything about them. But he cant see me doing anything wrong, he just tell's me patience, but its getting to me now that ive been out about 9-10 times in the last 2 weeks and the most ive had is 2 bust off's. One was on a live squid which got smashed and then snapped off on maybe a rock im guessing. 2nd bust off was when i had live yakka on and had a huge run then the hooks pulled so dissappointed. Can anyone tell me if iam doing something wrong or is it just a waiting game for these illusive fish. Any help at all will be highly appreciated! Also ive attached a picture of the 6kg jewie my mate pulled in the other day underneathe the harbour bridge, lol he's lucky though cause if I wasnt there to bring it in and net the fish, he would never have landed it. Thats an awesome session man. Love the squid you caught. Me and a mate of mine fished the harbour a week ago (landbased). Found a huge school of squid! I think there where about 30 squid in the group we managed to pull out 16 big squid in a matter of 15-20mins. Nothing took them as bait, so we took them home as dinner lol i was never complaining it went down damn good. Cheers, Mr.KingSpooled

Hey Raiders, Just wondering if anyone was interested in doing a trip to do some bait collecting and also some jewy chasing tonight and over the weekend. I plan on goin out tonight and tomorrow night to mainly chased bait fish and squid, but will also have my bigger rods out with a livie on just incase they get hit while collecting bait. The bait will be collected for the weekend Jew chase which will be land based in and around the Sydney harbour area. Also we will be collecting bait as have organized a charter boat for sunday, maybe theres some spots left if anyone is interested. Hey there Raiders, Im new to this site so i thought id say hello to everyone and thank you for having me on your forums. Iam a land based angler who is in the market to buy a boat. Im currently fishing for jews around the sydney harbour area with live baits and really fresh dead baits. I do like doing alot of bread and butter fishing for bream,flatties,whiting etc etc. Iam not a pro fisherman in anyway but i do have knowledge on what i know. I do need some help with me jewie/kingy fishing as i havent yet landed a pearler fish. So maybe with a little help from the raiders on here i will be able to get that illusive hook up and also maybe even find a boat in the meantime.
