  2. Sorry to hear hope you have a speedy recovery. So easy to slip on rocks. I was fishing with a mate on some rocks at balmain when he slipped on some sand and lost his footing. He then looked where he was going and decided to jump so he wouldn't hit his head or something It was a 5 to 6 meter drop when he landed he shattered his heel they had to slide him up an extension ladder in a stretcher. As they were lifting him up about half way one of the carrabeenas sorry for spelling snapped. It was lucky they had a safety on. It took him 3 months till he could even walk around with a moon boot. They had to put plates in his foot with 7 massive screws. He only recently got them out after about 2 years.

  4. Hi all with it getting hard to find sash weights came up with a cheap easy way to make them. Get some off cuts of pipe I found gal a bit heavier then tape up the bottom and fill with sand and cement. Finally drill a hole at the top and put rope through. 79d1ae87-beeb-fd02.jpg79d1ae87-befb-5b61.jpg

  5. We trolled for 8 hours out past browns. Headed north we found water to 25.2 found one school of mac tuna busting up worked that till it disappeared. Then worked the shelf back south. Only caught 1 mac tuna which we used as bait for a couple of jackets and a nice snapper.

  6. I've caught a few nice salmon off garie. Best bet bet regarding surfers get there before them. Gates open at 5:00 am. As for surfers and rips they use them to get out there to catch a wave.

  7. Mate the iron cove can be productive at times try using a burley. Get a bucket get some bread, chicken pellets, tuna oil maybe some old pilchards mix together with some water and throw in hand full every now and then. This brings the fish to you. Sometimes worthwhile having a rod with heavier line similar rig to the one you mentioned but with 2 hooks around a 5/0 with a pilchard or squid might be lucky to pick up a jewy just leave that one in water wile you have fun with bread butter fish on the lighter line using prawns, worms, small squid or chicken. Also there are a lot of different spots to try there try under bridge both sides or off ferry wharf or if you on city side looking at water look left there's some rocks going out into water try the end of them. Good luck

  8. Yes we were out there to started out at browns for 2 blue eye one about 13kg and the other 2 or 3 kg and 2 red perch. Heard reports of marlin at around the hundred meter mark so left browns for a troll should have stayed ther because the yellow finn starting busting up every where and a striped marlin was caught on the tide change. But that's fishing79d1ae87-9a81-f0ed.jpg79d1ae87-9ab0-6b00.jpg

  9. Went out to browns today water was a very nice blue averaging 20.1. Caught 2 gemmies and 2 blue eye. We also had a bit of a troll for marlin with no luck but all up was a good day.79d1ae87-21fb-dad3.jpg79d1ae87-221a-b0f2.jpg

  10. One day I was fishing the hacking in the national park. I caught a flathead about 60cm brought it in swung it round on to the rocks about 3m from the shore. The fish jumped of the hook bounces round a couple of times and lands in a crack in the rocks. The only one around and swims off was the only decent fish all day.

  11. ballooning - nice

take some pics. pretty keen to see how you go

oh how do u get a big fish up a cliff face ?

Seen them use a grappling hook attached to a rope. You attach it to your line slide it down it then goes over the fish and grabs it. You then simply pull the rope and up comes your fish. Great invention but not so effective on a nice marlin. Who would have thought you could catch marlin off the rocks. I have a hole DVD dedicated to ballooning of the rocks they even have kiddies pools full of live bait. Looks like fun.

  12. ...not having any boat experience but if you forget to put bungs in and have a bit of water on board if you put the boat up on the plane won't the water run out then put bungs in before you slow/stop?

    Jim........

Tried to do that before on a jet boat. Not as easy as it sounds hanging over the back of a boat at 20 knots is pretty scary but it does work.
