  1. Fished a Central Coast rock platform over the weekend and was curious about these two fish; 1) Is this a small groper? If not what is it? 2) No idea, very pretty though? Thanks Nibbles
  2. Thanks so much, great information.
  3. Sorry to hijack your thread Alberto....enjoy your new rod. Wriggler was wandering If I could ask a few questions about the BSR852GLX? Have heard that it is beautiful to use and is significantly underrated power-wise, so: What size heads and plastics do you usually throw with it? I'm told it can cast 1/2-5/8 size heads if you're gentle? Any truth to it? What size reel do you have paired to it (running 20lb braid)? ThanksNibbles
  4. Sounds like an amazing evening. Congrats on your first, and a solid one too.
  5. That looks ridiculous, what size metals were you using?
  6. Just out of interest how big was the king? And what size hooks did you send him back with?
  7. That's a great report, keep at it.
  8. Tony, Not sure if I should be proud of said passion or slightly embarressed. Mind you, it's doing the rounds amoungst friends (thanks Four Fingers) and I think i'm emotionally somewhere in-between. But that's it. Emotion, passion, values and conviction. Maybe we got a little philosphical in the car on the way up. Maybe I've read too many touching tales on this forum..... And your comparison to Mr Green, well, he is an actor by trade is he not? Nibbles
  9. I chuckled too, well, a day later. Thanks. Where exactly? It's not so hard to find, just drive around the area a bit. First few pics are from the mid-north coast. Bream and blackfish from Hawkesbury sandstone ledges. PM sent. I was dancing...over the rocks.....much to the amusement of nearby surfers. Thanks, tasted good too.
  10. Raiders, With Easter on its’ way I hatched a plan to see a few friends, catch some goliath silver fish on lures and then report back. Instead I did a bunch of driving (with some great company), lost plenty of lures, lost a potential goliath fish (or at least I’d love to think it was) and managed to catch some small silver fish and then cooked some of them. Nonetheless a great weekend. Friday, baby jewies on bream gear in the wash: Four Fingers with his first tailor on a spinner: Saturday sunrise: Another lure/fish gone: Camp: Sunday afternoon bream: Sunday evening bream: Monday special: Nibbles
  11. Nice report and fish mate. Well done.
  12. Bump. 20,000 odd members and only 13 in the comp so far. ???????
  13. Nice pics Dean, thanks for sharing.
  14. Hi Mousse, Nice report and some nice fish. Just curious as to what you see as the benefits of using the above tackle? Not a criticism at all. Can understand if you're chasing pigs, groper etc but for bream? Reason I'm so curious is that early in the year I decided to take my blackfish set-up (10' Wilson Shorelline and Alvey 475B) with me camping to use off the rocks (both float and bottom fishing) up the coast and found myself going back to a 7'Catana/2500 Sienna combo after a couple of days. It was my first plastics combo but has since been turned into a light bait combo. No argument that the Alvey and glass rod are close to indestructible and make landing a fish easier but don't you find the little threadline so much more sensitive, light, effortless etc? Would love to hear your thoughts. Cheers Carl
  15. Hehe, nah but she chatted via viber to me (or at me) for hours on the drive home, was like having someone in the passenger seat. So much for silence. Thanks mate. Best I've experienced, fishing, so far.
  16. Thanks mate, it's a Samaki Allure Surf 10' . Just wanted something reasonably light and cheap that I could throw bigger lures with and not be worried if I bashed it round the rocks a bit. It's rated 12-25lb and cast weight of 2-4 ounces (which i think is 56-112g). Yeah not too far from Foster, but "far" is relative. Thanks for the kind words, sorry i'm staying tight-lipped.
  17. That's an awesome first post, pics, videos, a full-account and some amazing fish. To many more!
  18. Im not sure how to keep congratulating you. You Sir, have this this spot/technique so well figured out. Congrats, again.
