  8. Went out this morning to my local spot to persist with the jewfish addiction and try and pull at least a soapy out. Ticked that off the never ending list this morning first cast. Stoked! Few quick snaps and went back into the toxicated mud of GR to grow into a 10kg trophy hopefully can pull a few ones out in the near future and find some bigger ones while i'm at it. Caught the 51cm beast ( ) on a pro lure fishtail, very very deadly lure at the moment for me, working a treat on a number of species cheers guys, matt
  9. I thought that as well Hodgy but they have included a new rule in their regulations last month stating that catch and release fishing for bass and perch is permitted
  10. Thoughts on this one? Last month Fisheries changed the rule regarding bass and perch closed season. It is now legal to fish for them however only strictly catch and release as it is obviously their spawning period. What do you think? I think that there are so many that shoot around during this time of year and guys can catch up to 30 fish if not more in one session. Surely hooking a fish and taking it from the water would delay it's spawning process from shock. Just wanted to hear other people's opinion on this one. here's the link http://www.dpi.nsw.gov.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0013/202351/NSW_FWG_2013.pdf Page 62 cheers, Matty

  15. Awesome EP Pete Ep's can be really hard to come by on SP's so that's a solid effort. Good onya Ben for putting him onto a nice fatty! Have hit that spot numerous times now with Ben, should be able to hopefully pull one out soo hey cheers, Matt
  16. What a cracker to kick it off mate! If that's where I think it is then that's an awesome sized schoolie for the area! Thanks for the heads up on the chippo jew.... They're back!! cheers, matt
  17. I personally do not think that every jewfish has to follow guidelines when hitting a bait. Not every jew has to completely swallow it, there's no rulebook On the other hand I must say that it could have been completely anything, although when these things happen very frequently (4 or 5 times now) and every single one just around the tide change then the chance of it being a jew is very likely. Hope you finally get one Tom (assuming that it is a jew) and prove what the culprit truly is!
  18. Onya Tom! Getting it done mate. that marina will only get better and better for you guys. once you find out which hulls the perch sit at (on particular days) you will definitely find some bigger ones (40s ) Can't wait to join you guys some day...... needa keep saving for this bloody hobie! Now go get a jew at jew at the ville cheers, matty
  19. Don't think a crab would make a massive run after hitting a yakka and then pulling the hooks
  20. Not doing anything might come?
  21. Hi guys, Went for an early flick around darling harbour last weekend fishing all the legal fishing zones. Was trying to get a few bream on plastics early in the morning and was rewarded with a few nice brem on Pro lures and Z-man Grubz Later on in the day things turned quiet and just as we were about to bail, a school of bonnies started harassing a bait ball right under our feet. We could literally watch them just come up from the depths and attack the bait, scattering them all over the place. A quick change of lure to the pro lure paddle grub and instantaneously we both hooked up onto small bonnies. Still awesome fun on 3lb and 4lb leader! SO I guess we ended the day on a positive with at least 7 or 8 bonito and tailor caught between the two of us. cheers all, matt
