  1. happy birthday bud !
  2. Cheers Guys, We did okay considering we only had an electric for a couple of hours in the morning. We had our 2 kicker fish nice and early, so the rest of the day was spent drifting the flats trying to make up the bag. I'm quietly confident if we had electric power for more than 2 hours we could have added another 500-600 grams to our total but as luck would have it, we didnt need it. Thanks to Steve for another great day on the water, a pleasure as always ! And Andrew, Vx40's and Gulps were the order of the Day Chris
  3. Well done Stewy and the rest of the raiders for a great day out I had a great time giving my group the rundown of SP's and taking them out for a few casts on the boat. I beleive being confident with your SP fishing is a major part of getting results, and I feel my group are now more than able to get out there and find some fish on plastic. It was great to put some names to faces, and give back to the site after the wealth of information I've attained from here over the years. Well done again guys, and thanks again for a great day out. Chris
  4. We'll be up there prior, during and after the interclub. Competing with 200 odd boats around the bait schools during the tournament isnt our cup of tea, so we might shoot up north those weekends. No doubt we'll give the reds a shot on the day's we're blown out. You going to leave the boat up there for the following weekends or drag it back down to sydney? Chris
  5. Solid fish guys ! Great work on the trace too Chris
  6. hahaha yea, okay I'll beleive that when I see it !
  7. Well done Red, Bout time you stayed connected to one, after the run of bad luck you've had with these fish on 4lb, things were bound to swing in your favour. Lucky Mick and I cleaned out all the pesky bream from that area 8 hours prior, and left the jews no option but to eat the blades ! Nice southerns too ! Chris
  8. Agree with Red, thats one sexy boat! Chris

    Rock Gods!

Stevo, Was at the after party (and Metallica album launch) and heard mixed reports about the show. Some loved it and some found the show itself borning. I take it you loved it ? Chris

Rob, You'd be surprised how many people know of, and fish this area. Also at the weir you'll notice a fish ladder, its not there for mullet Chris
  11. I was in a friends 5.8 Sports fish. Not unsafe or dangerous in anyway just a bit eerie not being able to see in front of you. Chris
  12. We were out there yesterday too, We fished into the evening and Boated 6 YFT to 25kg and an alby. Dropped 3 or 4 as well. Bite came on late in the day. it was an interesting ride home for a small boat in the dark.. Chris
  13. Nice Haul Steve ! Just a few questions, Do you guys have a quota of how many gemmies, blue eye etc your allowed to take to market? Whats their going rate on the market floor these days? Chris

    Importing Boats.

PM Rodholder, He recently untook this task and saved himself a truckload. Chris
  15. It happens all the time up at port, etiquette is out the window. Fishing out of a little 5.6m tin can you often get bullied around by larger vessels. In previous years we used to allow this to happen, but being forced off the bait time after time just got too much. We just stand our ground now, maintain course and stay with the bait. We also figured that chances are our alloy bow sprite would make a lasting impression on glass and gel coat. Chris P.S - I do feel that if a boat is hooked up, regardless of proximity to you, you do you best to get out of the way. Most boats we've hooked up around have shown us this general courtesy, though I will place the emphasis on MOST.
  16. Its all good Stewy, We just got our wires crossed, all sorted via PM. Chris
  17. Hey Joe, I understood perefectly, but thought id add to your list ! I wasnt implying anything directly at you, it was just a general statement about bigger boats. Chris EDIT -coulda sworn there was a post here by joe ??
  18. A couple of things I will add, In the middle of YFT season, when you can see 100 odd boats over the mountain you cant expect to start a shark trail on the mountain and not have it crossed or disrupted by people that simply dont know better. its not a perfect world, especially on weekends. Also, the fact that you own a 30+ foot boat, does not give you any authority or privileges over smaller vessels, like stewy said, no one owns the water and the smaller vessel has the same right to be there as a bigger vessel, be it cubing or trolling. Chris
  19. Spoke to Manny on the phone and he said he managed to get crew last minute, and find some fish late in the day. Well done to both of you ! We pulled the pin for Zero's at 2.30, we had a feeling they'd come on the chew, pity we couldn't hang around. Chris
  20. Good to see you hurting over something slightly larger than those bream your usually connected to ! Good work ! Chris
  21. Tide changes them selfs are feeding triggers offshore, the actual change is more important than the running up or running out of a tide. My game plan would be to try and incorporate two tide changes in your trip, and be over the fishiest looking water during these times (bird life, temp breaks, structure) Chris
  22. Most fish I've heard of so far have been Between 35 and 45kg. Slighly ebtter average that last season. I saw these pics and instantly headed to the cubboard to grab the 30lb outfits ! Well done to all involved Chris
  23. I fish the bay pretty regularly, and the amount of fresh and the predicted weather for the weekend is going to keep me well away from the bay. Chris
  24. On another note, keep in mind hawaiian style lures were primarily designed for calm hawaiian waters. Alot of the rigging, lure positions and hook sets, change lure charateristics quite drastically in 1.5m of seas and 2m of ground swell. Again size of boat/pressure waves add another level to what lure/rig combination swims in each pozzy... Chris
