  1. hey mate, i was out there as well friday night, fishing probably 1oo meters away from u ,in the signature named Eye catcha.we caught that 30 cm jewie and through him back in,which ended up on yuor line.mate we fish the hawksbury week in ,week out for jewies and ive found in the last 12 months, they are not around in numbers anymore,i cant remember the last time we caught a jewie over 10 kg.we seem to be catching alot of pj sharks and eels,so my guess is that the water is 2 dirty, the river needs a good down pour to flush it out.ive given up for a while on the jewies, big on the yellow fin tuna
  2. hey stumpy,i was out there at junos point last night,i tried call for fishraiders on the 2 way, but was out of luck,it was a very disappointing night ,it bloody got cold out there as well.i was in the haines signature, was that you right near me,about 20 meters away.we where going to head out to see if there where any dollies, thank god we didnt,we hung around the river for not even a run, spewing
  3. good day raiders, as to fishing with the baitrunners, ive lost to many fish with the baitrunner on,so i stopped fishing baitrunner when fishing for those bastard of a fish.the only time i use baitrunner is when ive got a big livie out, only because those big jews will fiirst grab the bait, move a few meters, then they will swallow[from my experience],as for fishing with sqiud and other baits,i have the drag set, usaully the small jews wont muck around, they just smash it.all the jews where caught and landed have had the drags set ready to go,and we have lost heaps in baitrunner mode.we fish pretty much every week for them ,and a few other guys i now out there as well, will only fish this style.cheers
  4. its better than getting it in the eye, like what happened to me,thanx 2 my brother
  5. hey guys, you wont find any die hard fan than us, we go to all home games and travel interstate, love it. my daughter lead the tigers out at liechart oval against melboure storm,in front of a full house,it was a time she will never forgot.we have also been in the papers as been hard core supporters.back in the era when the boys had a part time jobs[sirro, elias, blocker days]a few of them worked as labours for my godfather building company.bgring on the tigers in 2007, cant wait
  6. Well, after a week which i wont forget in a hurry,we decided to hit the hawksbury to see if we can land a jew.we started of chasing livies, come across a school of tailor and decided to cast a few lures to see if we can land any.this time i put on a pair of sunnys, and stood well away from my brother so he doesnt repeat the lure incident.we were getting double hooks, after 10 minutes,we had enough so it was time to go jewy fishing.we pull up to f&s to find only 1 other boat.we set up camp,6 lines out and the wait begins.i sent out a tailor that was about 40cm,and boy he was hypo,so you can imagine ,if he was to get smashed,it was to be a serious fish.after 20 min or so,i notice the rod start to jump around,as he was being chased.i pick the rod up,and wait, next thing you hear, zzz, and it stops.i wait another 10 sec,and again, zzzzzzzzzzzzz, and stops.i pumped ready to go,and hes on,zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz ,the really start to scream,my brother pulls in all lines to make the deck clear, the other boat at this stage a freakin out,as they couldnt believe what they where hearing,it was like music to your ear.after a 2 min fight, pop, the line gives way,f................ck,was all that was said for the next 10 min.it had frayed the line against the reef.spewin.as it started to get dark, the water flatten out like a mirror, the tide was about to turn as well.next thing you know, where on again, but this time we gave him no chance to run.we pulled him up from the bottom, and after a 5 min tussle,he was landed, but it wasnt a jew,it was a gumpy shark that measured 140cm,nice.we net him,get him in the boat, and he went spastic,i reach for my tuna basher, strike him on the head as he was to big to put in the kill tank, and that was it,slept like a baby.we also landed a least 6 hammer head sharks, which we did not keep[are they go eating?],so it was time to move on.i decided to give junos point a fish,as i was surprised to only find 4 other boats there, its usaully like the drive-ins.i pull up next to another boat, set the baits, and within 5 mins, the reel starts to scream.the blokes next to us couldnt believe it,as they where there for 1 hour and didnt even turn a reel, after a 10 min fight ,it turned out to be a sting ray, about a 1 meter in diameter.that was it for junos,as not much was happening.we moved to the spot that never seems to let us down,1 hour later we land 2 jewies, going approx 70 cm.it was time to call quites,as the bait run out.we ended up with a feed at least.heres the pics
  7. hey boys, the jews are there every week, you just need to work out which place to fish on what tide .i also believe, catch your own local bait,it always pay to spend a little time catching livies, wheather big or small.just remember, big tides, big fish, and the other secret is,if there a 20 boats sitting at 1 spot, dont join the crowd, move around an investigate the waters,as your chances are 1 in 20 if you jion the parking lot

    Towed Home

mate, join seatow.for the $135 it will be your best investment.we have a 2000 model haines signature, its a beast, we thought we would never break down ,in the last 3 months, ive been towed in twice.once from sydney heads and the other from the sydney fad.both times it was a minor electrical problem from all the wave jumping, but you never know when you will break down.it looks really funny when your got a $50000 boat and your getting towed behind seatow.

    Hooked

i will keep it nice and short, went out today only to nearly lose my eye to a fishing lure, thanks to my brother.we come a school of tailor which we where trying to get some lives for those monster jews.second cast in, my brother hooks me in the eye, with a 3 hook lure,2 hooks get in lodge in my eye borrow,so you can only image what i was feeling. i tried to remove the hooks myself but had no luck, so it was time to go to hospital.get to hornsby hospital to be meet by 5 doctors who where freakin out, as they had not seen anything like it before.after 3 hours, they decided to send me to RNS hospital,to see a eye surgoen.was meet by 3 top eye surgeon in nsw, which they did not believe what they where in for ,there facial expression made me fear the worst, all i could think about was losing my eye to a lure.after examing my eye for an hour, it was time to operator.we go into surgery, 30 min later i was back in recovery.they could not believe how luckly i was not to lose my eye, not even to scratch the eye bore.the last person that was similiar to me was not so luck, he did lose an eye.anyway back home like nothing happened,so to all fishos, these pics are to make everyone of us aware of how easy it is to have accidents on the water These pics should win the FISH OF THE month comp.
  11. you must of caught the shovel nose sharks that we left for you from our trip that morning, your right about the boats, it was like a parking lot.we fish the hawksbury every week, for the reason there not much boats, but yesterday was crazy.those rumours have started about those 30 kg jewies
  12. sorry guys, finally figured out how to post pics, to read report click on my last report on Hawkesbury.
  13. went out yesturday to see if we can land that all mighty jew, but again was not to be.get to the boat ramp to be meet by at 15 boats waiting to enter the water,i thought to myself 2 things,1-someone spread a rumour the jewies are on or there all here to get away from the heat.anyway, apparently there was a charity bream fishing comp up river . head out to flint and steel to be meet by a swell that was at least 1-1.5 in the bay ,which was surprise.we get to the flint and steel to find we had the place to our self.so we set up camp before day light and the wait begins.after about an hour or so, we have or fist touch of a bait, very unlikely as the pickers usaully smash your bait within 2 min of being in the water.it was a false alarm.10 min later the rod buckles, and you can only imagine the line that was coming off the 6500.after a 5 min fight ,we land a gummy shark that was at least 1m long, it put up a very good fight for what it was.it was very quite for the next hour or so ,so we decided to move spots.i turned on the sounder to find that the water temp was reading only 15.5 ,which was way to cold for any fish to come out and play.so we pull up anchor to find a school of tailor jumping around, make or way to them, catch about 10 in 5min for livies and move on,as we headed back up river, between flint and steel and junos point, we noticed about 20 boats fishing this 1 spot,no idea what was going on there as it was the 1st time ive seen so many boats there,if any fishraider was in that group can you let me know if there is a reef?????.again head past junos point to find it was like a car park,so go further up river to try this spot on the turn of the tide.get the rods out, and within 2 min, where on to a soapie, going about 60cm,and that was it. decided to call it a day, first time i have seen the water temp so cold in the river,i need help to post pic?
