  1. wow....well done, glad to see a report on squiding.....i will get out to my spot this weekend to TRY and repeat your effort !!! same question mate....how do you store your squid for jew baits?? Any more reports on these cagey creatures will be great, hope to see a pic of your Jew next week!
  2. I have fished the in/out tide at Moonee Beach flicking plastics across the channel that feeds the river for 50cm+ flatties, landed good size fish early morn only. Also at Moonee Beach walk out at low tide and get yourself onto a sand bar and work the gutters with lures/plastics for Salmon. Good luck, love it up there ! !
  3. Hey Bro, no chance getting out in that miserable weather, hope to venture out this weekend for a flick Before you bolt down the coast, you are more than welcome to drop some nippers off at mine ! !
  4. Well done mate, i have been chasing the big girls down at Bonnet Bay/Como the last few weeks for zero, happy you have restored my faith ....and glad you released her so i can catch her again!
  5. Appreciate your advice Gents, stirring up the bottom using the Halco Scorpion and Ecogear ZX35 will be my plan of attack. I just bought "weedless" hooks from the tackle shop which the guys says is the best plan of attack rigging up with plastics and winding on some lead to get some weight into the jig....anybody use these?? with my nitro rod i assume this may solve my problem by now being able to cast far enough and retrieve back without a cheech n chong clump of weed coming with it.......will let you know how it goes.....again many thanks guys.
  6. Hi Raiders, first post so please go easy on me.... I have been bait fishing for years, however i am now right into flicking plastics, blades, hard bodies etc into the Georges River seeking flathead landbased, i have a range of good quality lures and plastics and i want to target flatties on Weedy/Sandy 2-5foot bottoms around the Bonnet Bay/Como area. Blades get caught up in the weed, plastics at times seem to not interest a bite so any advice or particular "lures" for me to try this season will be appreciated. Thanks FR for running such an informative and friendly site.Ribs
  7. Hey Grinners, a couple of us raiders spent the whole day down at Bellambi on sat at various spots only to get hammered by cootas smashing our plastics.....we only managed 1 pan size snapper and then a whole heap of flatties on the drift further north......the snapps are there, just keep searching/trying like us !
