,Hi guys, im not sure if I phrased the question right but I was wondering about the amount of berley. I understand what berley to use but im just not sure about how much I should put in. For example should I put in 50ml of bread and water mixture or more?? Thanks

Hi guys, I'm wondering if there's any sort of guidelines for the amount of burley you would use? The scenario for which i am trying to plan for is hairtail in the hawkesbury. I know that if you would use too much burley for baitfish then they will be full, but how much is too much? Thanks

If you up for a night sesh, it looks like the hairtail are on the bite. You can still get them during the day.

Depends on where the gutter is. If there is not gutter that you can see on the beach from a lookout, try moving onto another beach. Without a gutter the fish are either not there or spread out across a large area.

If your on the northern beaches just try and find a spot near a headland which you can look off and just try to look for dark water and developing waves

Hi guys, I was just wondering if anyone had some experience with this rod or nanospeeds in general. It is 6'6 and im not sure whether that will be a large factor as my last rod was the Catana 7' and i want something around that height. Any suggestions around the 100-200 price range? Mostly going to be landbased, from bream to hopefully pelagics. Also a reel to match it around 100-230 price range, 2500 reel. Thanks.

The Sienna is a great reel, it is probably one of the most common reels that people buy when there looking for an entry level reel. Mines going pretty good after 2 years of frequent use and bad treatment..

Hi Guys, Over the last few months there have been tens of thousands of Jellyfish in the water. The species of Jellyfish is the "Jelly Blubber" and it looks like this - http://www.projectaquatic.com/2012/09/22/blue-jelly-blubber-season/ I mostly see them in the top 2m of the water column and it seems that most of them are around deep areas of water in pittwater and mostly just in the main channel and not in most bays. I have not seen any schools of fish on the surface inside these masses of Jellyfish and have not caught any fish in them and i was just wondering, do the pelagic fish stay away from these jellyfish or do they just stay down deeper, is fishing on the bottom affected by this? and also what you should be doing in these situations. Towlers bay. Side closer to scotland island. Always has whitebait bustups and at the dropoff had a big kingie follow my metal up on sunday.

Definitely agreed. I remember in February there was a day with predictions of storms and 70 km/h winds... The day was calm and sunny. Surely with all the equipment it can be vaguely accurate? Although I guess it can be hard when sudden changes come through.

If your going to freeze them, dont. They are useless after you freeze them

If you don't have access to Bridges or Jetties go onto the Boating map (http://www.maritime.nsw.gov.au/publications/maps.htmlhttp://www.maritime.nsw.gov.au/publications/maps.html) and find some holes or sections of deeper water. Fish the tide changes near the end of the day and for the bigger jewfish, fish very late at night/early morning.

Small or big flathead?..

8/3 So out to Towlers bay it was on Friday afternoon, the water was very brown. Got to Towlers and just managed to get small bream and snapper and a few yakkas but the water colour seemed to make it pretty quiet. Saturday morning brought some boils on the surface so i got out a 20g gyro jig and started casting. 5 minutes in I fire out another cast and as the braids hanging in the air, a seagull flies straight into it and gets wrapped up.. So i dragged it towards the boat and netted it and he definitely did not like that... After some attempts to unwrap him whilst he was trying to bite me i cut the line. He flew away and the rest of the morning was pretty uneventful except the water colour was back to normal.. Is this because of the Warragamba Dam releasing water?

Are we talking for a fast retrieve as fast as possible? Its a 2500 reel and the fish wouldn't be over 60cm and thats pushing it. So still really fast burn? Thanks

Hi Guys, Went for a quick flick landbased today to a spot where i'd seen some surface action previously. Last time it was whitebait jumping out of the water being chased by tailor and salmon ( which were jumping ) The action was around 15 m from shore so i went back today, water was pretty murky and a few branches floating around. I had a blue 13g Metal and i was just doing a mixture of retrieves all whilst tailor where jumping around. What would usually happen was it would be about 50 whitebait jumping and then a tailor jumping after ( or salmon ). This kept on happening and i would cast to the area for nothing. I did this for around 1 1/2 hours and im just wondering about what lure i should be using and what retrieve Gear i was using was a 2-4 kg rod with 6 lb braid and 8lb fluro. Thanks

Hi guys, I was testing out a zman grub on a 1/16 HWS in the pool and the fall rate was 0.23 m per second, without current. It brought a question into my mind which is, if there were a small current would it ever reach the bottom? Thanks.

Fig tree bridge , hunters hill side, on the left side of the bridge with plastics. Get a few flathead there. Try casting at the edge of the shadow of the bridge on a sunny day and the eddies on day with strong current. Dont retrieve against current aswell. Good luck
