Lenght ~180cm-220cm/ ~ 30-50lb., I am Special interesting how rolls workid, like no any problems whit too big tolerans and line damages. We havent so many fully rollered game rods here, so i have order some other country, whit out that i even see it firs. Thanks Jani from Finland

  6. Hi raiders! I am interestin what kind rods and reels you use for bigger sea fish, when yo fishing whit boat? How heavy reels and rods, what kind lures.. ext? I ask, because in here, somebody use lighter and somebody use more heavy staff for sea fishing in Norvay. Like me, I have for shallow water (under 150m deep) 30- 50lbs rod, and reel is Abu Ambassador 10000 Big Game (355m /0.50mm line capacity) whit , pirks and jigs is 200g-600g heavy. Some peoples use only 20lb rods and reels whit 200m line capacity, and only 60-400g pirks and jigs. That is when fishes is usually 10-50kg, Deeber water (over 150m deeb) i have rods 80-130lb and 50-80lb, reel is Okuma Titus 50 L, line is 37kg/700m. And i use pirks and jigs 400g-1200g. Some people use only 30-50lb rods and Abu Ambassador 10000 Big Game reel, and 300g-800g pirks and jigs, but usually thei not fishing over 300m deeb. From deeb you can get allmoste anything, like Greenland sharks, or some other monsters. So many people not even fishing over 300m, i know only few people here. So i am interesting hear, what kind staff you use, and have we anything similar Jani from rainy Finland
  7. Thanks, looks like good rods, but i cant byu it from here I have now this rods: Euro Gold 185cm, solid, 50-80lbs and Euro Gold 185cm, solid, 80-130lbs but it is too stiff for Pollock! I need more flexible, but that kind rod , that i can use 400g jig. So 400g jig it is not 400g in water, because it floating littlebit. That ugly stick i can buy from here: Ugly Stick BigFish 210 and 240cm 15-30lb. And 195cm 10-50lb, i thik about that, but is it too flexible? I dont know, i try get one for testing. Is it not so bad price here 10-50lb only 60€. We have been now 1 week +3 - +6 C and allmoste everything snow melt, next week (i hope) snow and freezing weather come back. Usually we have that time -5 - -15 C. Btw. I reservation next summer one week trip to "fisherman paradise" Röst island in Norway, is it expensive, but it maby my only trip next year. 8. Hi! Have you anybody some experiense fishing Ugly sticks? I did´nt find information in Finland even i can buy it from here. I am interesting buy Shakespeare Ugly Stick Big Fish 10-50lb for fishing in Norway. But i haven´t any idea how heavy lure i can use???? I need use 200-400g jigs, is it possible whit that rod?? Or 300g pirks, but jigs is more important. Jani fom Finland
  9. Hi. We did use Storm 385g/23cm jigs (brown is it best for halibut ) and we did use too fladen 20cm, 23cm and 30cm jigs whit 300g head. And some pirks 300-800g. But biggest fish (we lose it ) bite whole pollock whit hook, and its cut rod three part, we think that it was near or over 100kg halibut. Because its take line all time, and then its parkering near bottom and stay there. But everytime biggest swimming away , Is it same thing there
  10. Hi riders! Do you smoked any fish in there?? In Finland is it very famous smoked fishs, like smoked salmon or trout If you want i can try translater some finnish fish foods? I like fresh herb marinade BBQ tuna, but i cant buy any fresh tuna in Finland, i can buy only 2-3 days old tuna and it cost 30€/1kg.
  11. Yep! So, halibut it is that "flat fish", back brown, other side white, it taste veeery gooood , i think that it is all moste best fish on polar sea, no bones and no too mutch fat. Cod i dont like so mutsh, but boiled and one "New Foulands style" cooced it is good too, And fried cod thungs is it very delicious Btw. Is here in forum any area where is fish cooked recipes?
  12. Hi dudes! Long time a go i did made this report, now i do edit it, better english now ext ext. This is video link to this trip 2006: I put this other place, but this is better place tell that story. I was fishing on the polar sea last august whit 2 my frend. We did rent 8.5 meter fishing boat whit skipper and we sailing 27 hours, fishing in that time about 17 hours. 60 kilometers from coast and that skipper is it sea biology Dr. Ole-Petter Pederssen. We drive 5 hours fron North Norway coast to Storskaltaren BANK, there is water between 60-8m only, and around that area over 200m. We start fishing 55m and i fishin about 2 minute when my first HALIBUT (15kg) was on boat, and one my frend get same time 10kg POLLOCK. All that trip we get over 10 cod between 10-15kg about 5 cod between 15-20kg and 2 ower 20kg. I get 20kg cod and my frend 20.2kg cod. And we get 4 halibuts 4kg, 11kg, 13,5kg and 15kg. And one cusk, 7kg. All fish that trip about 650kg, only 3 man whit rods and lines, we did use softplastics and couple of times jigs.
