Im thinking a 7ft to 8ft rod around 2 to 5kg, bait would be yabbies which you can pump from there or you could buy some worms, a normal running ball sinker rig should be fine.

if your coming from the sydney side, as soon as you cross the entrance bridge turn left there is a wood wharf there in the park, skip it and walk down to under the bridge and flick plastics parallel to the bridge for some flatties.
