  1. That luderick is bloody amazing... great post.
  2. Hi Raiders, Seached the forums already and there is some posts of close places but not this exact place. Just on my way up to Diamond Beach, have never been so just wondered if anyone's fished it. I've bought almost every rod I have, but I really like the look of the river mouth to the north of the beach, and the rock wall to the south (although google maps needs to update this picture).Any advice would be great. Also it looks like the beach is accessible but not sure if the parks associate website is out of date, cause it doesn't look like there's an access road - the beach itself looks like a few km's long, and that north estuary section doesn't have any roads accessible unless you go all the way around and access it from the north. thanks in advance.
  3. Those are some fat flatties - can only dream to catch one that fat. Looking forward to the video release.
  4. Yeah I hear what your saying, they were definitely selling it for Shimano, but at the same time, they didn't over sell it. I've been to other events (fishing and non fishing related) and you just wanna get the hell out there because of it, but especially in Starlo's talk, I don't think he mentioned one thing about shimano the whole talk - just SP fishing techniques etc. Bretto was definitely there just to sell shimano's range, but his Q&A was just about fishing in general which was good. The one question somebody asked he still answered as truthfully as he could, about costs of lures, ie why would you spend $30 when you could spend $5 and he was pretty honest about that I reckon.
  5. Not so much Squidgies - a few new jig heads coming out and some new hard bodies. They both had a laugh at one question. The guys put his hand up pretty innocently and goes " you might get this question all the time" and Bretto sorta jumped in preemptively and goes " we don't usually get the same question all the time so please ask away" and the guy goes "are you gonna sell S-Factor seperately" and he just cracked it and goes "actually yeah we get that question all the bloody time" and they both had a little laugh to themselves, but it seems like you might be able to buy s-factor separately soon, imminent apparently.
  6. G'day raiders, Just wanted to post something about the event hosted at Manly Fisho's Club last night by Shimano and Fish Outawater. The nights was definitely focussed on SP's and the changes in SP's over the years and new merchandise coming out of their new range. The event was packed, and it became standing room only pretty quickly. They both answered a heap of questions, enough to allow Starlo to polish off a few beers during the Q&A session that's for sure. Learned a few things as well, they both use a combination of All Bright and Slim Beauty (never heard of that one) for their braid to leader knots - that was an insight. Bretto's into the SB and Starlo's an all bright man. Not sure how many raiders were there but the amount of people that showed up to the event shows that fishing's got a stronger than ever following right now. Weather it's because of Shark Toothed Paul Worstling and iFish, or just that the rods and reels and braid have progressed so far that it's just more enjoyable to fish, I don't know, either way was good night, and only thing that would have made it better was free beer and free food. There were a few freebies handed out too. And a few clowns up the back.
  7. I don't think you need to explain how it's tail whilst curled up was still 140 when straightened out, that's a solid 1.5meter fish for sure - no red bull can neccessary. Well done. Now if I could just replace the sharks for table fish of this size i'll be happy
  8. funny , i thought the same. I actually do like MKR - because it keeps the wife happy and allows me to go fishing
  9. That's exactly what I keep trying to convince my Global Warming friends - it's not climate change or global warming, it's season change
  10. Haha that's a classic. very glad I didn't touch it now.
  11. G'day, First post, thought I'd share my vid of a numb ray. Didn't know what it was when I caught it under spit bridge early Saturday, but for some reason I didn't feel like getting too close to it. Happy I didn't. Apart from the ray the fishing was mediocre at best that morning. Enjoy. https://picasaweb.google.com/100522397996562438687/DropBox#5703390341654692498
