  1. haha had to take a pic of the boat didnt you , nice boat i must say mate !! Any chance you could take a closer pic next time so i can see the exact hook placement ? Also when catching yakkas whats the best rig to catch 3 or so in one go ? Sick of casting then bang out of bait only for 1 yakka at a time..
  2. Thanks guys gonna give some berkeley gulps a run for the money, Which size jig heads do you think i should use ? Also probably the most important question.. Catching yellow tails, What would be the best rig to catch 3 or more at a time !??? I went fishing yesterday and caught 10 yakkas took me 3 hours when i could of got 10 in a hour, luckily i ended up with 3 kingies about 75cm in length..
  3. Hey guys love this forum.. Have a few quick questions for you experts regarding rock and beach fishing 1) When using soft plastic baits better to use them on rocks or beach ?? 2) Which best baits generally attract a certain species of fish ? I know pillies attract bonito, salmon, tailor and even kingies But what about mullet? Prawns? Softbaits etc ? 3) When using live bait such as small tailors or yakkas i generally pin the hook above the eye , kinda hard to explain but i've been told and even seen people do it that way, Am i doing it correct ? Thanks
  4. Wheres the best place to find some squid ?? And i meant when using soft bait lures such as worms etc do u treat it like a lure meaning spin it all the way in or sometimes leave it on the ocean bed letting the current move it ?? Tryed both and so far so good..
  5. Wish the seajigger was $200 only then that would be a awesome buy !!
  6. Looking at the prices, Catana is a better buy as its so much cheaper.. Catana: http://www.fishingtackleshop.com.au/products/Shimano-Catana-Coastline-Light-1062-Fishing-Rod.html Daiwa : http://www.fishingtackleshop.com.au/products/Daiwa-Sea-Jigger-305-Fishing-Rod-10-Foot.html
  7. seajigger looks like a good rod, tossing up between the daiwa and a shimano catana 10foot rod.. Been looking at reels and really digging the stradic 3000FJ
  8. Awesome advice buddy, when u say double rig u mean you snell 2x 4's yeah ? Also quick question when soft baiting do you guys generally leave the bait on the ocean bed or do u actually spin it ?
  9. Well was thinking a longer rod would benefit me but im after a light and really sensitive tip, I do have the daiwa sensor surf 12 foot rod which is mainly used for bigger fish.. Any idea of a 10ft rod which will suit the needs i mentioned above or cant get one that long ??
  10. Hows this sound, mainly for soft bait jig heading.. Shimano catalina rod mixed with a Shimano Stradic CI4 2500F reel ??
  11. For a beach rod i tee up my 6500B baitrunner with the Daiwa sensor surf 12"foot rod, rated at 7-15 kilos but will hold up to 40+ no dramas, thats if ur using a garf obviously..
  12. X-rap rapalas and halco poppers seem to be ace!
  13. Thanks mate really appreciate it, Where abouts u from maby i can come some time on ur boat? Could learn a few things EDIT, send u a PM
  14. hey guys, Im after a rod/reel which is for light weight fish, line rating of around 8-10kg will be enough as this combo will be used for yakkas and soft plastics mainly off the rocks/beach.. Also when using soft baits do you just let the bait sit on the surface of the beach as the current will take it ? Or spin really slow?
  15. Awesome mate, a pic would be highly appreciated as im still a bit confused hehe, and yep wanna use for live bait to try catch some kingies hehe.. As for hooks for both yakkas and squids are these okay ?? http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums/n556/johnny87au/441416157_o.jpg
