  1. killing it as always in the hacking, i love the water there. just dont love the fish there :'(
  2. Got onto the water 10:30am after stopping off at Mac's bait bar, got some nippers, prawns and pillies, Just at the peak of low tide. Bites were constant but small snappers, biggest going 24cm. Moved past tom uglies, the wind was pushing the boat from south to north, so i drifted a tight grid, bites were very slow only resulting in a 38cm flathead who swallowed a pillie gut hooked so we decided to keep it. An hour later we managed a 25cm bream on a prawn, we released it in hope of good karma and karma served us well! Moved past captain cook bridge, and drifted from 1-7m of water and the action was hot for the next 1.5 hours. (2pm-3:30pm), snapper, whiting and bream every 3rd bait up with massive hits. lost something that took a good run on a prawn, so rigged up quickly and sent another prawn out, 5 seconds later BANG im on! drag screaming on the symetre 2500, fight the fish for a good couple of mins until the big silver slab came to the surface! but the bream wasnt done yet, missed the net attempt 3-4 times as the fish still had heaps of power! get the fish in the boat, some loud expletives were yelled and hi fives all around, i landed my pb bream of 34cm
  3. i was out saturday morning, only landed 1 squid. no yellow tail or kingies in a burley trail. all other boats said they caught nothing legal.. sad weekend

  5. Hi raiders, Went for a fish from 5:30pm - 9pm from abbortsford to gladesville, on the run out tide. Plan A was to catch some jewies with some fresh squid, got a run on a whole squid, drag was very tight but the circle hook didnt set. Fishing was extremely quiet not many bites on live nippers, only 1 whiting @ 23cm and 2 baby snapper. Alll other boats at the ramp said they didnt even get a bite. Water temp: 24C
  6. You always manage a great haul! out of 10+ trips still havent landed a legal fish. went on wednesday, my best ever session at the hacking. 28cm snapper and mate caught a 30cm snapper. and just baby snapper and flathead on nippers.

  18. Keep it short and sweet. Arrived on the water by 7:30am off the water by 12pm Bait used: fresh squid/prawns from macs bait bar and some fresh frozen yellow tail. water: 22'C Tried for squid, but only managed one octopus, another 2 were later caught on yellowtail. Fished all over the bay for: snapper, bream, flounder, flathead, banjo shark and octopus all fish and octopus were released to grow and breed some babies. enjoy the photos
  19. can anyone point me in the right direction to where the deeper water is on the hacking? no spot x's but ive never landed a legal fish in the hacking (about 10 sessions) leading to frustaion. i launch from wallys, deeper towards the heads or inland a bit?
  20. welldone mate, i saw you at moona moona creek off the rocks throwing lures for some salmon. top work pal
  21. solid work yowie, what boat do you have, i have the bright orange dingy not sure if you saw it yesterday. that NE wind killed me with drifting! looks like majority of boats in the hacking anchor up
  22. hey guys, ive been to the hacking about 5 times by boat. (bright orange tinnie) and ive never ever been able to land a legal size fish in this water system, i usually launch from wally's wharf and not sure whether to turn left towards the heads or turn right and go inland up the river. i decided to go up the river and the current was so strong was hard to tell if a nibble was occuring cause the sinker was bottom bouncing. Not asking for any secret spot X's just any general information to help. tried for 2 hours, got frustrated pumped some nippers and went to botany bay and got 3 flathead 43/39/36 and 2 whiting both 28cm and a large octopus. cheers
  23. im no help at all, ill be in forster this long weekend hanging to catch a jew. whats your set up?
  24. i fished the hacking yesterday for just a few legal flatheads that we threw back, not trying to steal spots but where is it more productive to fish, towards the heads or inland?
  25. Gday fellas, Ended up buying a new second hand 1998 johnson 2 stroke motor and took it for its first run on my dinghy.
