Hi Scratchie, any advice for a land based fisho? ill be staying up at Soldiers Point for a week with the mrs and will pretty much be fishing everyday.. ive got a boat but not bringing it up .. keen to catch some bread and butter species and hopefully some squid if theres anywhere that is accessible.. Hey guys, Just wondering if any of you can help me out with a few landbased spots for squidding around Manly in the evening/night or even during the day. I love squid, I have caught a couple here and there but never been able to really crack the code. I have all the right gear, Yamashita and YoZuri jigs.. egimax etc.. Ive heard that around Manly can be productive but just not very familiar with the area.. Any info would be appreciated.. cheers, Joe

hey mate. went out there on wednesday, bait was hard to catch but finally managed 3 calamari.. trolled the markers all around the harbour and only managed 1 decent hit which busted us off

Hey raiders, Just wondering if anyone can give me some tips or exact locations of where to go tonight for a fish (land based) I usually fish around Woolwich/Lane Cove River but have been thinking for a while to maybe try somewhere around The Spit or Roseville.. would LOVE to catch some squid .. Any tips or advice would be appreciated.. Cheers, Joe

Hi Raiders, Bought some Egimax yesterday, cost $29.99! Just wondering if it really works? has anyone used it and had success or noticed a difference..? how often does it need to be applied? cheers, Joe

yeah i was fishing off a private wharf with a couple of mates and a squid followed my mates bait up, so i told him to hold it in the water and i just reached in and grabbed it! haha any more info on the location been searching everywhere for a good landbased location.. pm me if you like

Well done mate.. Nice bag of squid! I only caught my first one last week and it was with my bare hands!! cause for the first time ever I didnt bother to bring a jig with me.. Were you land based?

Ive tried the ferry wharfs at Woolwich & Chiswick but more so Woolwich.. its obviously better once the ferries stop or it doesnt matter? yeah there definately is a nack to catching them! lol .. Ive tried the slow wind, and also the let sink with 1 lift then let sink etc...

Thats awesome champ, cant go wrong for $6 a pop.. I live in the Inner West as well and have occasionally tried squidding at a few local wharfs with no luck at all! From my expeience switching to a smaller jig would usually help! any tips on your land based squid spot?
