  4. Hey Guys, Heading up to the Gold Coast with a group of mates based in Surfers early in January and were looking for a good charter for the day while we are up their, 4 of us are keen fishos and gonna take the chance to fish the waters up their before we head back home. Would love some deep sea action as yet to fish off a boat all land based sadly. Googled a couple places but thought I'd get an insight from you guys! Any recommendations or experiences with the charters up their would be great! PM's only please!!!!! --Amir

  7. Hi Raiders! Me and my best mate josh are looking for a mentor for blackfish angling. After the last couple weeks catching nothing but a numb ray, we got a little frustrated and want to try new types of fishing as well as new areas. We are lucky enough to know a spot for grabbing stringy weed so bait is not an issue! We aren't the most experienced fisherman but are young men willing to learn and take on challenges as they come. Never fished on a boat before and we are always land based fishos (wish we had a boat/yak). Josh drives so it is not a trouble travelling for us and we are located in the eastern suburbs which i find is really not a great distance to the north or south end of sydney. We definently have blackfish at the top of our checklist but any other species is welcome as we are generally restricted to bream, flatties, and the odd trev/tailor/ Your name: Amir and Josh Your Location: Eastern Suburbs Fishing technique: Blackfish, but willing to learn any technique Availability: Flexible, generally can work around weekdays and weekends! Preferred location: Not Fussed, can be the Hacking, Botany Bay, Harbour etc Provide your own gear? Yes we have gear, (can verify on request if we need to get anything extra) Provide your own boat? No Thank You Kindly! I look forward to hearing from you! Regards Amir
  8. Congrats Champ! that is the fish of dreams!
  9. Thanks Hrgh, plenty of them there, wish i would have caught one on the line!
  10. Hi Raiders, First ever report hope im doing this right! Still a fairly new fisherman with only 6months worth of experience and me and some mates have built up a passion after a recent trip up to QLD, always trying to get the lines out when we can. We decided to go camping with a group of friends for the weekend at Bonnie Vale and thought it would be a good chance to get the rods out and try the new area. First day we got there we decided to go on a walk and find some decent spots where it was viable to fish on, found some locals there that had no luck, but insisting at the best of time some bream can be found under the bridge at the Basin. Headed out Just before sunrise from the tents on Saturday morning and left with 2 decent bream 27cm and 29cm, decided to leave it at that so we didnt miss out on havin breaky, considering there was so many of us. In the Afternoon we hit up Wattamolla Beach a short drive away and tried the rocks on the beach with nothing legal, only 2 small flatties and a beautifully coloured parrotfish which all went back and left it at that. Had a great time with even better scenery, but did manage to see a lot of fish jumping fish in the river back in the Basin leading out to the bay but didnt get a good look to identify the fish, even at night time these suckers where jumping out of the water one after another! Any ideas as to what fish? Heading down somewhere closer to home in the eastern suburbs on wednesday still undecided hopefully something nice to report back --Amir
  11. Hi Blood Knot! ye mainly bream and flatties fishing in estuaries all the time , do you recommend a knot to hold the two lines together (blood knot perhaps? haha), and should i use the same setup when top water lure fishing, meaning straight flurocarbon leader to main line! Thanksss
  12. Hey Guys/Girls, super new around this site and fishin! Just wanted to know if i should be using a swivel for my jighead attaching my main line to leader, or if i just tie my main line to leader and then to jig head (without swivel). going for a 1/16 - 1/8 jig! Any input would be great! Cheers
  13. Thanks Nathan! Will definently give it a thorough look, land based fishing is my only option at the moment, I wish i had a boat! I'll give a look around my local beaches and see if i can find some safe rockfishing spots, if any at all. Thanks alot for the input
  14. Hey guys, Fairly new to fishing and just found this great site! I got hooked last year, and love going for a nice relaxing day fishing! I usually go fishing with a mate or two and sometimes have access to a car. Just wanted some insight as to where some ideal fishing spots would be around the Eastern suburbs area in sydney, im located in maroubra. Ive been around brighton just off general holmes drive off the M5, the little beach near port botany boat ramp, near the airport wall and been to bare island once! Would appreciate any insight! Amir
