Hi, Can someone please recommend a reel to match a 7" Rod 10-24kg? I am after something as lite as possible but enough power to handle kingfish as this is what primarily i will be chasing. I have a 5500 size reel, but was hoping there would be something lighter as it gets heavy after a while of jigging? Its about 600g, is this normal for a jigging rod? I will be using braid budget up to $150 thanks

Hi, I just bought a new 7" rod.. Its rated at 10-24kg. I wanted a reel to match.. and would be chasing the tougher fish like kingfish.. Mainly wanted to jig with it with soft plastics.. Can anyone recommend me what reel i should be using which would be lite... but strong enough to handle kingys? Budget would be about $150 max thanks

Hi Guys, If you are jigging for Kings with a 5" gulk Jerk Shad.. what Jig size should i be using? The guy at the store sold me a 1/4 3oz jig .. is that too small?

Hi Mullowayman, how close to the rocks would you need to be in order to catch the squid and yakkas at west head? Also, to catch the decent sized fish, kingfish, flatheads, bream, etc.... would you need to be out past the heads to catch these? or within the heads? it seems like within is only about 10 meters deep water?

Hi, My friend and I are planning a trip to the rocks somewhere to target Kingies. Can someone please recommend a location we will be able to catch yakkas from and throw them out to hopefully catch a kingfish? we understand that rock fishing is dangerous so we will be taking the appropriate precautions and wearing appropriate gear before trying. thanks

Hi Guys, im looking at a 6'6 Ugly Stick rated 8-15kg for fishing off a boat. Would i be able to match that with any reel? Do you think the above reel is too heavy for targeting Kings? More specifically, i have a Daiwa Windcast and a Pflueger contender... i was hoping to use these reels, rather than having to purchase another reel?

Hi All, I am very close to booking in to go for my boat license with my father in law. I am really interested in joining someone if they have a spare seat or two on their boat? Basically, I have never owned or driven a boat, so i just want to learn a thing or two in preparation for when i get my license/boat. I will help out with launching and cleaning, and will do my best not to get in your way. I am usually a beach fisher so i do have my own gear.
