We have gone a long way around our wonderful country. We saw the effects of drought and the dry river beds that we thought we would fish in.
We saved for several years to get our van and car all fitted out. Stewy did a magnificent job driving and towing us around as I navigated us to the Outback and beyond.
I have my own onboard network and an auto satellite so managing fishraider and doing some Goto meetings were easy. Sometimes we had no connectivity in te remote areas.
Here is our path and The Vengabus
That looks like an awesome trip. love the photos.
Any plans on doing the east coast and cape ?

Nice man, yep im at uni too and i am itching for a fish but too busy with assignments and what not!
Can't wait till summer break, ill be fishing as much as i can.
Yep summer break is the best, can go fishing without feeling guilty of not doing an assignment haha

Haha that's what I normally do, I usually squeeze in fishing sessions before or after uni.
But I feel like im getting old, I feel tired all day if I go for a fish past my bed time.
I used to be able to fish all night without any sleep then head straight to uni for an exam in the morning.

Loved this video!!
We normally go but we were on a lap of Australia towing a van! I sure know lots more about 4wd now and we did water crossings and even a sand recovery. All great fun!
Thanks Donna,
Hope your enjoying your trip. Would have been exciting to do water crossings and recoveries. How long into your trip are you and where have you gone so far?
I have started to enjoy 4wding and camping a lot more over the past year. Would love to do a lap of australia with a caravan at one stage.

Noooooo don’t answer - it will end up like the Holden or Ford question.
Hahaha, your opening up a big can of worms.
If I had unlimited money, would love to have a 200 series Landcruiser but I guess I will settle with what I have.

Hi Raiders,
Did anyone else manage to get to the 4wd show this year?
There was a lot of cool deals for 4wd and camping.
There was a fishing section, had a few deals as well.
Unfortunately no boats this year (not that I would of bought one).
There were quite a few personalities from TV, Youtube and Instagram.
Managed to record a few videos and make a short video of the day. Hope you guys like it.

Hi Raiders,
I must apologise as I haven't been very active this year because of uni.
I havent Been out fishing that often, but i went for a 2 hours with a mate after uni to wanda beach. Armed with some pillies and some gang hooks.
Didnt take long to get a hook up and landed a small 42cm salmon.
After about half an hour, I get another hook up but it was a ray.
It wasnt The most successful trip but it was nice to get out for a fish as it had been a while since my last outing.
I'll post a few reports of the last couple months even if its a bit delayed haha.

Stonker bonnie, well done
-
Now that is a solid bream
Well done
Also I think that the recommendation is fish caught west of the harbour bridge should not be eaten. And fish east of the bridge should be eaten in small amounts as stated by DPI.
- No fish or crustaceans caught west of the Sydney Harbour Bridge should be eaten. You should release your catch.
- For fish caught east of the Sydney Harbour Bridge generally no more than 150 grams per month should be consumed.

But great fish nonetheless

Nice work.
Always good to get a legal king

Top effort there. Unlucky on the kings
I have done the overnight sleep in middle harbour and early morning fish a couple times.
It is really relaxing and quite enjoyable, enjoying a meal under the stars
-
Great report.
Certainly a really good session
I have been meaning to target luderick for a while now, but have never had the chance
-
Great write up.
Well done on the fish
-
You've become the squid whisperer
Thats gonna make some good bait
-
Unlucky that there werent any legal ones there
But catching kings is fun nonetheless
-
Nice work mate,
Some quality fish and great photos
-
Great effort
And good on you for helping other fishos
-
Nice work,
Catching and cooking your own fish fresh is miles better than store bought fish
-
Getting hungry looking at that
Well done
