  1. Hi Jaso, I have one of the plastic tubs with a snap on lid from bunnings (get them anywhere really) with a a smaller water proof tupperwear style container super-glued to the top. In that I have a battery powered aerator with a hose that goes into the top of the tank down to an air stone that sits on the bottom. I have a sinker on the tube to keep in down. I just keep a spare set of batteries with me and change a small bucket full of water every so often (though that's probably not necessary). This used to sit behind the back thwart of my tinnie on the other side to my petrol tank and worked well for me. Cheers David.
  2. G'day Ken, I got off the train at Kingswood on Tuesday night and saw three brand new Poly's lined up along the street so wandered over (as you do) for a bit o a sticky beak and saw they had delivery stickers on the front that said "Aust Bass Angler". Had a bit of a chat to one of the guys and bit of a poke around. While I thought the new store would be big I had no idea it would be THAT big and they'd be selling boats as well. My wife is actually due to give birth that weekend but if I can get her to cross her legs for a few hours I'll be there for a look Cheers, David.
  3. Hi Guys, Just look at how much force that ink has hit that guy with!! Check out the spray above his head - looks like a black water cannon!! Great photo! Cheers David. P.s. Long live the hedge hog!!!!!!!!!

    Boat Stickers

Hey Soapie, When I was respraying my tinnie I did a search for companies on the net and fired off emails to them explaining what I was doing and wanted some stickers for the side of my boat. Well, the response was overwhelming!!! I got more than I could ever put on the side of the tinnie and from all over the world. Tackle companies from the US sent heaps and Diawa even sent me a "Team Diawa" hat - for free!! I mostly wrote to companies who's products I use the most (and told the that in the email). I little bit of grease makes the wheels turn easier!! I know there's all sorts of arguements about advertising them for fee when you already buy their stuff etc etc etc but.... after a back yard spray job on my boat the spray job and the stickers combined looked outstanding IMHO and really made my tinnie look quite good, again, IMHO. Anyway, horses for courses but I was really happy with the finished product. Cheers, David.
  5. G'day Adam, I'm with Ray. Put it in your car out of sight with all other things you don't wish to have nicked at the ramp, like the winch handle, tie down strap(s) etc etc. I always kept mine there and guys I fish with do the same. It's amazing the things that go from ramps. The last two times I've been out I've been asked for a lend of a winch handle by some poor bugger that's had theres nicked :yikes: I've even heard stories of guys coming in after a day out to find all the rollers gone from their trailers!!! Cheers,
  6. G'day Grantm, Yeah, I'm going to give it some serious consideration and look for a graphite stick I can flick plastics with but also have a go at the Sambos with as well. I'm limited with the $$$ (baby on the way) but will get the best my budget allows for. I'm thinking one of the squidgy spin sticks would be more than ample given what I want to do and my level of experience. I just love the whole "sambos on bream gear stuff" and since getting onto a school at Lilli Pilli and soon after at Kurnell last summer I've never looked back. At Kurnell I was using the little glass rod (which is a Silstar) with a little Silstar reel and 6lb braid and flouro leader and landed fish after fish (tailor included) by myself out of my little runabout (which I had at the time). Just one of those trips that stays with you, perfect conditions, football field sized boil that lasted an hour....  OK, that's enough prattling on.... Cheers,
  7. G'day all, As a new member I wanted to thank you all for the amount of information I've been able to pick up here! This quote from Allen Glover really says it for me as a bit of a novice fisho and I can really relate to it. I currenly have a little hollow glass spin stick with solid tip that I use for chucking plastics and other lures around. I've caught everything from Whiting to thumpa Salmon in the bays with it and there's no doubt it's served me well. I have it matched to a little spinning reel with 6lb braid. It is of course, however... a cheapie and I realised the difference the minute I picked up a graphite rod. The rod I currently have is so much heavier than a graphite rod and casting all day with it becomes uncomfortable and well - that takes the edge of my fun, "it aint comfy so it aint fun" (well it is but it could be much better). I also find it difficult to get the lure right next to "that snag or pilon" but that could have more to do with my casting than the rod. I've been considering outlaying some $$ for a graphite rod and this post has really gone a long way to making up my mind. Thanks again to everyone for a very informative and enlightening post and one that's probably going to result in a happier fisho. :ohyeh: :ohyeh: Cheers David.
