  1. Cheers guys, I will do that tonight at some point!
  2. Hi All, Thought I would mention a brand of sunglasses that I think are great & affordable. I have recently been looking at sunnies for fishing however the only decent brand I could find were Mako, which are very expensive! After some searching around & mag reading I found a website that designs sunnies just for water sports. I ended up purchasing a pair of sunnies by Fuglies for $39.95 (not inc delivery). The delivery only took 2 - 3 days also. "The Polarised Smoke Lens - A neutral grey tint for excellent all-round glare reduction in all lighting conditions (but especially bright direct sunlight.) and minimal colour distortion. Ideal for all water sports, offshore and coastal fishing, driving, and most daily outdoor activities." Not only are they designed to cut out all that extra light, They float & have an adjustable strap too. I'm pretty sure most of you guys are well aware of this brand already however I thought I would share my great buy. Cheers
  3. Foxtel is sitting on record just waiting, haha.
  4. Should get that bloke from "River Monsters" to come down and work it out.
  5. Hey man, Check out this thread - http://www.fishraider.com.au/Invision/index.php?showtopic=36153
  6. You have game getting in a dingy in those conditions! Better luck next time haha!
  7. Nice stock pile! A lot of my friends refuse to bother with the hawks now and they say it's been over fished by the pro's and what ever else. Hopefully it picks back up over time!
  8. I do a lot of fishing around that location myself (Ferry St) and have caught a few salmon down there. From the size of that and looking at the conditions I would have thought it was jew fish! Was fishing around there on Friday night and didn't catch a thing haha!

    Rod Bags

Hi All, I was wondering if you guys know of any good carry bags for two piece rods with the reel attached? have been looking online but was hoping you guys could name a few brands so I don't end up with some budget bag! I have a few rifle bags which are perfect but I don't really want to be carrying that around in case someone get's the wrong idea! Cheers
  10. Thanks guys, I will have sit down tonight and see what I can find out through general searching. Cheers!
  11. Hi Guys, I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on any Fishing clubs within Sydney, Pref the inner sydney area. Not looking to join a club for compition but mainly for the same reason I joined this website - To gain information and meet other fishos around Sydney. Would be great if anyone has any feedback Cheers I hope this is the right forum to post in, if not sorry admins!
  12. That's an awesome effort. The temp was great today but the wind was a bit strong. I have always wanted to fish down at the Q station. Me and the missus stayed there for a night about 3 weeks ago, the water is crystal clear it's amazing.
  13. Nice, I had a shot at squidding friday and came up with no results! Good to see they are out there however
  14. By the sounds of that fish you should head back with rope & anchor and use that as gear!
  15. I will have to give it a shot. One month left of winter and then hopefully the fish will slowly start to bite!
  16. Hi Guys, Very new to this website so I thought I would start off by saying good 'day! And also thought I would share my land based spots with you all & also a quick report on fishing in Sydney Harbor last night. Well last night was freezing but the weather was probably as good as it can get. High tide around 9PM, 100% full moon, basically no wind what so ever. It was the perfect condition to go fishing around Sydney (With 12 jackets). Did I catch anything? Unfortunately not. But I am hoping that if I keep at it my jew fish will come & pay me a visit! I did some squidding around woolwich wharf & finished up at Ferry St, Hunters Hill. We had some very decent bites and runs on the larger baits however it was very quiet in the end! Hopefully some of you guys will have better news for August! Before I sign off I wanted to share some of my locations with you all! As I live around the inner west of Sydney & my car is located on the central coast I am at mercy to which location my mate wants to go for a fish so We usually end up around the general gladesville area. One of the best spots for day time fishing would be for me Chiswick along the rock wall next to the Wharf. As it's very close to residential housing you are only permitted to fish between sunrise & sunset. The amount of Kingies I have seen taken from this spot is pretty amazing. I have also caught large bream, Tailer & whiting in this area. The parking is easy & their is a bottle shop & takeaway store just up the road if you are planning on making a day of it! The other spot I have found to perform well in the right conditions is Banjo Pattersons Wharf. This spot is great for various species as it's a very large wharf which has been there for a number of years so attracts a lot of attention. There is a rock wall that runs next to the wharf which is great for using a lure! If you walk straight into the bush from the car park you will find a very secluded beach section which may be great for flathead / squid jigging or casting right out into the middle of Parramatta river however I have not had much of a chance to give it a shot. I would not suggest visiting this location on a weekend/public holiday as it gets very busy but as it's not used by Sydney Ferries it can also get very quiet down there too! The last spot I will mention is Ferry St at Hunters Hill. This spot you can literally cast from your car, it faces the Gladesville bridge & I do most of my night fishing at this location. We have caught large bream, tailer, jew & even salmon from this spot. These spots are very well known within the fishing community so I don't think I am giving away anything new however as everything I know has been handed down to me I think it's only fair to share! Thanks Guys, Shaun. PS If anyone has a spot on a boat or land base fishing around Sydney send me a PM! Cheers.
  17. If you head out on a weekend and need a pal let me know! Cheers, Shaun
  18. Hey Noel, I will be doing a lot of fishing around the central coast and as I am new to the area I don't know many good spots. If you are free and keen for a fish send me a PM Cheers
  19. Hi Guys, I am hoping someone out there is looking for a fishing pal for either Sydney or the Central Coast. I live in Marrickville(Sydney) however I spend a lot of my free time around Gosford also. I usually do most of my fishing around Gladesville however as my car is always on the coast I am at mercy to when my mate can go for a fish! Anyone looking for a fishing mate for either land based or by boat send me a PM! I like to chase the standard estuary fish ie bream, jew, flathead etc. I am not so keen on the game fishing at the moment! Always happy to pay for petrol, bait, new gear & a feed! - Have my own gear - Free friday nights / weekends - Non smoker / drinker - Easy going! Cheers Guys!
