  1. What are the stripies like to eat? For future reference.
  2. Oh wow, shows how much we know, probably should have guessed by the thickness of it. I definitely did not handle it tef1on, i employ the same policy.
  3. It didn't have eyes or a mouth but it appeared to swim away when it was put back in the water.
  4. Hi Guys, Long time between posts! We headed out the heads for a quick troll south along the rocks towards Cronulla and managed to catch one of the fattest Bonito I've ever seen along with a few smaller models as well. Best we have done on the troll in a while! On dark we headed back into the bay for a few drifts near the runways and i hooked something i have never seen before, it looked like a squid at first but upon closer inspection it certainly wasn't! Can anyone id it from the pics? Sorry about the pic quality. Cheers, Simon
  5. Cracking king. Enjoy your new addiction!
  6. We struggled to get livies so only took 5 yakkas out and that resulted in 5 kings including the biggest ones, the remaining ones were caught on jigs.
  7. Great catch, I never knew you got them down south!
  8. Nice feed there! We got 13 kings from 50-80cm last sat morning at the peak, they were on big time!
  9. A metre king, wow! What a cracking end to a day.
  10. What an amazing first Jew, congrats! My first was only about 30cm!
  11. Some nice fish there! I always fish with braid mainline and mono leader and have landed 8 Jews in the last 2 months. I think the right spot and the right fresh bait is more important.
  12. Great fish guys, got me pumped to get back out there and upgrade from the 80cm PB I got a few weeks back!
  13. A well deserved fish for going out in that weather! Well done.
  14. Well done! It certainly was a productive morning in that area!
  15. Thanks all. Next plan is get one 1m plus!
  16. Well done! i broke my Jew PB yesterday, best feeling!
  17. I caught it about 730ish. I was fishing out of the inflatable boat.
  18. I went out Friday arvo to my fav new found Jewfish hole on Friday night and got some massive runs right on the turn of high tide but they kept spitting the hooks so i decided to call it a night and head out early the next morn. I left my house at 6 am, went to Mac's Bait Bar and got some fresh squid caught in the hawkesbury the day before and headed to Bald Face Point area and anchored up right up on high tide. Caught a 40cm Jew and a few undersize pinkies aswell as a small blue swimmer in the first half an hour and then it went quiet for a bit. Then the bait runner started getting what was a few small nibbles at first, then some small runs, then it took off. After a 5 minute fight and a few VERY nervous moments i boated this beast! It went 80cm+ and just over 6kg. Persistance, tips from this site and the best bait in Sydney from Mac's all helped. I couldn't be happier if i tried!
  19. That's some tasty sashimi right there! Well done.
  20. Thanks I had 2 rods out, one with a fresh squid strip and the other a prawn and it was the prawn that was getting all the action.
  21. What a cracking bag of fish, well done!
  22. Hi All, Just a quick report from the Georges River / Botany Bay i decided to take advantage of the amazing weather yesterday and head out for a fish around 8am. I tried a few spots in the bay and could only manage small Tailor, Bream and Snapper so I headed back into the river and After about 3 months of trying i finally landed my first keeper Jew yesterday not far from Bald Face Point, it went about 50cm and cooked up quite nicely! Caught on a falling tide on a Prawn, stoked! Cant wait to get back out there. Cheers, Simon
