I thought this info would be useful to all of us, in light of my mate getting booked, and it's a wake up call for me to say the least, highway patrol said in the event you have a rollover the contents of the boat do not become projectiles. And thinking about it it makes sense...cheers

Hi all, just got off the phone to the highway patrol in my local area regarding the law about securing items in transit for trailers,,the only reason I asked the question is because my mate got pulled over for not securing his load in his ute lost 3 points and a lot of $$. I was informed by the highway patrol that BOAT trailers are subjected to the same law, so I guess I will be taking all my gear out and put it in the car whilst in transit to and from the boat ramp,,,was wondering if you guys are aware of this???cheers.

hi there, just keep in mind also that street parking rules have been changed in NSW.....but good luck in finding a suitable boat,,it took me 7 months to find my one... -
Hi guys, just thought I'd update you all on the problem with my speedo gauge for future reference, I managed to close the tubing in its home position before it was cut and used araldite to close the tubing shut and form a closed seal,,,tested it out on the weekend and the gauge now works....cheers for your help....

I'm confused about enclosed waters meaning inside and open waters meaning outside, what is enclosed waters then??, also the people at BCF after asking them what safety gear I need for inside the bay fishing like the Hawksbury and up to lion island didn't mention anything about inshore flares outside flares etc etc,,doesn't worry me if I have to buy them, but if I don't need to buy them then I won't!!,,,I just want to be compliant... That's all...

The question about flares Nacih20k9,, they are not needed in enclosed waters, the RMS website also not required to carry them unless someone can point me in the right direction???

Hi to all, I'm a bit confused,,I've just bought a boat and went to BCF to get the required safety equipment and flares are not on the list for enclosed waters,,there only used in open waters,,I'm in Sydney and intend never to go outside..all that is required is. Life jacket Anchor and chain Bailer /Bucket Fire Bucket Fire extinguisher Paddle Safety label Sound signal air horn or whistle Waterproof torch.

Hi all, if the tubing to the speedo pick up which is mounted on the back of the boat, if it has a small hole in the tubing will that stop the speedo from working???

Hi to all again, took the boat out again on Saturday near Juno pt and I decided to give the soft plastics ago, in particular I used the Zerek prawn and I kid you not on my 2nd cast I caught a 40cm flathead, then 3rd cast another flathead, 4th cast another flathead but this one got off,, oh well I say, I turn to my mate fishing with me and say, these friggen lures Really work!!! Got to get some more of them...cheers...

Hi all, I finally bought my boat after many months of searching in those popular boat sale sites, I found this 2002 model,,I saw it online on Thursday and went and had a look on Saturday and made an offer and drove away with it same day,,went fishing on Sunday 4 flathead and 3 whiting, pretty good effort that..

Hi to all again, I've been to the boat show and think I've found my boat, I'm keen on a seacraft commander 400 with a 30hp Evinrude Etec tilt and trim all new for just short of $15k with drive on trailer,,spoke to Craig from Huett marine and the 30 would be perfect for this boat,,there are some YouTube vids regarding this boat and I think it's going to be good...cheers and thanks for all the advice....Muzz

Well guys, first boat I went to look at the guy couldn't get it to start and blowing heaps of oil through the exhaust so I told him to forget about it and the other one got sold before I could have a look at it,,,oh well at least it's a start,,I'm going to the boat show this w/end could there be something there??...cheers
