  1. Top catch mate!!! I still remember my first look at a mega flathead my mate once caught, probably about the same size. When he slid it onto the sand i jumped back 3 metres!! it had a massive head and a mouth that could take off you hand. BM
  2. Raiders, Yesterday i found a spot pretty close to work that looks the goods, but i am a bit concerned about pollution. The spot is upstream of fig tree bridge where the wooden walking bridge crosses the river. Water was very deep 2-3m right off the rocky ledge, plus the current really rips along. However the water had a pretty polluted smell about it. Has any one fished this spot and would it hold any decent fish or is it too polluted?? Cheers BM
  3. Five Dock side, near the concrete walkbridge, tried also off Rodd point but nothing happening and very snaggy bottom.
  4. Hi Raiders, As promised here is the report of my first ever SP session. Arrived at IC at about 3pm and it was bloody windy Undetered i rigged up a pumpinseed 2" grub on a 1/16 jig. The tide looked pretty high so i aimed my first ever cast on the edge of a rock ledge, almost instantly i snag up, but luckily i am able to wade out and unhook her. Rocky bootom makes it hard to detect between strikes and jig movement, and sometimes i feel as i am getting hits but not hooking up. Move up to a section of sand dispersed with rocks and cast just on the edge of the shade caused by a big tree. Almost instantly the plastic is attacked but they seem to be pretty small, probably toads Then whack, i strike but miss the fish, the grub tail is gone so i rig up a new one. Same spot and as the plastic is floating to the bottom it is whacked again, now i feel weight and have my first fish on plastic He is an average size flatty 25-30cm but fights like he is posessed!!. After i unhook him he practically jumps out of the rockpool and back into the ocean without any help, one angry little flatty!! After 1.5 hours i have got to get back to uni. Cheers BM
  5. Thanks to all who responded, I will try out all those tips this afternoon and give my first fishing report. Weather looks fantastic!! Cheers BM
  6. Hi Fishraiders, Tommorrow will be my first ever SP session @ IC and i am looking for some advice to overcome initial difficulties. I have caught countless bream on hardbodies, bait and fly before. I will be trying the section off henley marine drive near the moored boats and rock platforms. I have both 1/16 and 1/32 jigs and pumkinseed 2' grubs and 3' bass minnows in watermelon. How far out do i need to cast? what depth, should i try to cast around the moored boats. The tide will be rising from low but there does not seem to be much tidal flow though this section. An advice would be appreciated. Thanks Bream Mad
