  1. hEY!! dougfish61, If your going to the Spit tomorrow try under and around the bridge. There is some nice deep water there. i have caught some rat kingfish there and some nice taylor before. also flathead on live bait (Dusky's) are common. The Fish raider boys can advise you with whats on the bite or look up some of the reports for the harbour at the moment. My advice is if you are use to catching striped bass, then forget your Bream in the harbour and go west, 1hr inland will get you on to some Native Australian Bass water where you can work all those lures and plastics you have in your bag of tricks. Goodluck BigD
  2. I dont mind hitting the damms from time to time. Any fresh reports on Trout at the moment!! Any action to write home about. BigD
  3. Im going to go with; 1/ Bass 2/ Bass 3/ Bass Go wrasseman with a nice choice on the Brown Trout, This rain is just what us crazy bass fisherman need to wash away the BAD weed probs we had and also move some nice thumpers around. I will be testing a new popper i have designed and some large home made flys. A trip to Glenborne will be a must early next year. BigD
  4. You can have your Bream and your bass in the same water if you fish brackish water for example (Wisemans Ferry) Hey some impressive photo's The_lure, Very nice healthy fish. BigD
  5. Cheers! thanks for the info. But i would still preffer to buy local fresh fish before import fish (thats me). Sometimes when there not biteing that is. BigD
  6. I was at a Fresh fish shop the other day and noticed they now have a discription of all the fish and where its from. Like (Product of Australia) I could not believe this large crate of good size Baramundi have product of Taiwan? My understanding is these fish are Australian native?? The only thing i can come up with is there farmed. But they looked heaps to big for farmed Barra. Can anyone shed some light on this topic?
  7. I have a few favorites, from Deep frying Garfish - so even the bones are crunchy. To Wrapping a whole snapper in foil on the bbq with garlic, basil pinch of salt + pepper and fresh chilly. When cooked, lemon to taste. but normally chilly or lemon. As the lemon can take out the chilly heat. Thats good eating!!
  8. Its good to see the Bass blood boiling, I have heard of the Lane Cove too, but i have also heard you have to work your butt off to get in the action. My mate says the Bass action is always (Best in the West!!) But the Dam bass kick butt too. I have really got into the soft plastics and even home made poppers and large flys last season. Also thanks for your input mottyman there some nics pic's there. I have heard we have alot of green weed and low water levels at the moment? Any chance of some nice rain to flush out the system and bring some new fish our way. Common who's going to do the rain dance ??

Some keen angulars chase them all year round in brackish water. I target a few different types of fish, like Mulloway or hairtail even John dory during the winter months. Back to the bass!. I would like to ask of any good baits/Lures that would be worth giving a go and any good stories you may have to get everyone extra keen. Common you Bass fishman your 5c.
