  1. Hopefully picking up my new boat tommorow. It's like christmas eve for me today Cheers. Robbie.
  2. Wooooops Inkeds reply came after mine and the Stabi is a foriegn boat, Easy mistake to make Didn't mean to cause any confusion. Cheers. Robbie.
  3. Inked, I would have to disagree, I have spent a bundle of time researching the Stabi range as I was about to lay out my hard earned for one. They are a great stable and safe platform to fish from. I have done a test run and read every thing I can about them and asked every one who would listen for their opinion, every thing was positive. I still think the 509 would be a great first boat and the price Bob is asking is fair considering the local dealer will not budge a cent on price. Now I did say "was about to"... Fortunately I am married to a woman who loves the water as much if not more than me! So we have decided to go with an Ally Craft 540 Bow rider so that she can come fishing with me, yet escape up the front to read in peace while us boys fish. The bow rider is not going to be as stable and I will have to compromise on when and where I go, but her indoors will be out doors with me which I think is pretty cool Cheers. Robbie.
  4. Here you go Sammy. Nice catch! Cheers. Robbie.
  5. Hey rzep, Do your self a favour and polish your self, it is so much more rewarding Using a buff machine does require a bit of experience to get a good result. But it can be done manually if you have the time and motivation. As for the stickers all you need is a clean surface a roll of masking tape and a second opinion to get them straight. Cheers. Robbie.
  6. I will second that. That would be a great first boat. I am sure Bob will take you for a test run if you are serious. The only problem is once you do the test you will want it bad I am looking at getting one at the moment, however the Mrs is in favour of a bowrider... The debate continues Robbie.
  7. Thanks for picking that up, apologies for the bum steer. Robbie
  8. A lot of manufacturers now claim that thier boats are unsinkable, I believe recent legislation requires flotation in new vessels (I am not sure of the start date) However! Keep in mind that unsinkable does not make a boat un-capsizeable!! There is a very big difference. I don't think there is a boat known to man that will not capsize once pushed past her limits. Cheers. Robbie.
  9. Legally you are required to have a VHF radio if you are 2NM or more out to sea, 27 Meg and mobiles do not count. VHF also requires a licensed operator to be on board, but not neccacerilly the person calling, i.e. the Mrs can call ship to ship if you are at the helm (and licensed) and she is below at the nav table. You will also need to take into consideration other safety requirements for the vessel you are in when off shore such as flares, PDFs, EPIRB water ECT. Cheers. Robbie.

  11. Legionares in sizes for the little ones would be a winner for me... I will take two Robbie.
  12. There is a new ramp at Rozelle bay under construction. I think it is due to be finished early next month. It would not take long to get to Mort Bay from there. Cheers. Robbie.
  13. Bloo, Eastern side of the Spit bridge in the bay opposite the marina, pick up a mooring and cast away! Usually works for me. Just on sunset and a couple of hours after. I have used $2 jigs and $25 jigs and caught squid on most of them, buggard if I know which is better Stay away from the house boat though, the gentleman on board appreciates and deserves his privacy Check out the Two Dans Kingfish DVD it has good tips on catching Squid in that area. Cheers. Robbie.
