    Bad Fuel Or Fuel Pump Shot?

    Had some dramas the other day with my 2001 Mercury 115hp 4 Stroke.

    The motor runs fine until you try to get a move on. Around 1500rpm it runs like its being starved of fuel, stop, start stop start ect ect without actualy shuting off. This tells me its still getting fuel but not enough to get the revs up.The 2 days days before it ran beautiful until I refilled both tanks from the same servo.

    How do i tell if it is bad fuel or it is the fuel pump it self?

    Any tips???

    Mate at hathead last year we were catching those friget mac by hand.

    Have about 20 beers wait till low tide and they get trapped in the river, then you run and tackle them and hurl them up onto the beach. Pretty awesome spot!

    Im guna sneak down after next week at SWR. And hopfully get a few days off here and there and really give late Feb and March a go. Ive been waiting all year for that time of year and im looking forward to it.

    I cant believe your not going back down untill that late???

    Hey guys,

    Heading up to SWR on saturday 3 feb.

    Havnt heard many reports from swr and the ones i have heard arnt crash hot.

    Anyone have any news on whats happning up there in regards to Beakies or Fin and or any other animal that goes hard? Something.. please to get me reved up!

    Does anyone have any advice or tips for doing your own oil change on a 4 stroke?

    Its a 115 Merc 4 stroke.

    A mate of mine did mention the Gear Box oil to be alittle tricky.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Forward Clunk Reverse Clunk?

    Does any of you guys have a clunk when putting it in forward and reverse?

    Is it the gear box or is does it sound like the engine control needs adjusting?

    This is on a 5.8 Savage Lancer cuddy cabin.

    I did see a brand new trailcraft at a boat ramp with the same probs.

    Its done it on a newish 90 merc 2 stroke and now a new 115 merc 4 stroke.

    So ive always had the prob.

    Suggestions On A Plotter

    Yeah im doing the same thing. I have the Furuno 620. But im not going to run the chart plotter though it. Im goin to get a seperate plotter. I was told from a good source to not run gps through the finder and to deff get a seperate plotter. Cupla mates of mine have a seperate setup and i do find it is better to have both seperate.

    Nothing beats the full screen on the sounder and Plotter.

    I recon you could get a plotter fro around the $1000 mark and that should include a map.

    Im keen to hear what everone else thinks so ill keep a keen eye on this thred.

    Geoff, Yeah i hear what your saying. Good advice mate Thanks heeps.

    The Trailer could do with being stollen hahaha its the only thing im not happy with. After the boat rebuild and a new 4 stroke it makes the trailer look crap. But i cant be stuffed buying a new one just yet as ive got upgrade the game rods and reels. Thanks guys for all your input!

    Hey guys,

    Any suggestions who best to get a Boat Insurance quote from? And any idea what would be a good price to pay?

    I have a 5.8 Savage Lancer that i have just restored with 115hp 4 Stroke Merc that needs insurance b4 i drag it down the to Greenwell. I want to get it insured for around 25k. Will i need to get it inspected?

    Savage Osprey - What Are They Like?

    I have a Savage Lancer 5.8 which is the big brother of the ospray and they are a very good hull and very seaworthy. Gets me to the shelf and back no probs at all. Go the Cuddy cabin, it gives you a stack more fishing room down the back.
