Hi All, Just a qick question, are there any Squid in Botany Bay ?? I have caught a couple over the years but I haven't found one spot that is consistant. Don't need to give away your secrects but are there any spots that are consistant ??

Whats wrong with the Etec that's on the back of it ???

Hey Dave, Went out today and dropped my limit of 5 hats in the Bay, All we got was 1. Last time I tried was over 4 years ago and we got about 10 back then. Won't be racing to drop those hats off again.

Just thought I'd throw my 2 cents worth. I have a 115 Etec and have had it for just over 12 months. It sits on the back of a 530 Haines. All I will say if that if I was to buy another outboard tomorrow I would ensure it was an etec regardless of size.

Hi All, It's been a while since I've been out, But I have finally had the OK form the . I am looking at going out in Botany on Saturday. Last time I got out there I got some Trevs at the oil wharf and also some Morworng just outside the lighthouse at Kurnell. Last year I also got some Kingies on fresh Squid just outside the heads.. Is there anything else around ???? It might be a while till I get out there again

At this stage Sunday looks good. I will be heading out to Botany to try my luck. Haven't been out for about 3 months. Has anyone had any luck in Botany ??? Would have gone out Saturday but will probably be after the Roosters Smash the Tigers.

Thanks All. As for auto vs manual, the maximum towing for auto is 2100KG and manual is 1600KG (out of the Commodore brochure). Not sure why though I think I will go with the V6 Auto.. Thanks again

Yes, I am talking about the VE Auto, (SV6). They are rated at 2,000KG but just want to confirm if anyone else has tried long distance towing.

Hi All, Need some help I have been towing towing a 5.3 Haines, (115HP) with a V6 Commodore (Short Distances) and it's been going OK Just in the process of upgrading to a new V6 Commodore which I will more than likely keep for the next 4 or 5 years. I will be looking at taking the boat to the south coast (Nowra, Kiama etc) or North (Port Stephens). Has anyone towed this sort of weight (apprx 1.5T) in a V6 commodore over that sort of distance? If So, how often and how is the car? Thanks !!!!
