  1. I'm with scratchie pests and minus points. Up there with seagulls taking your bait
  2. i have been told they are crap. Never eaten them myself. I get Yakkas of the rocks when you start getting sweep Yakkas disapear.
  3. Park closer to the pump.one hand on the nozzle the other to hold the hose off the car.i never get a scuff mark. I hate lining up for fuel. Car is a Mitsubishi Outlander
  4. The arrow for which side to fill up is a great invention especially when it is busy at the servo. People don't seem to realise the browser hose does reach the other side of the car. Means no lining up for me.
  5. Take some crab traps there are good mud crabs around there.
  6. For me calamari (green eye)have wings down the length of the body. Arrow squid have short wings at the top of their body. If people tell they caught squid I ask what the length of the body wings are This clarifies for me which type they caught. Easy. And calamari(full length body wings are better to eat)
  7. Camo The tide runs pretty quick through there if you keep to the edges of the channels you should get flathead, bream and whiting? Try around the oyster leases or St Hubert's Island. Have heard of trevally and salmon being caught through paddys channel lately.
  8. Nice catch. Winter brings the big blue nose whiting in Brisbane waters
  9. I just brought a shimano stradic 2500 FJ reel for my shimano catana 802 rod. Well within your budget and a great bream and flatty setup.
  10. Use one of them bait rigs. Pm sent

    Squid

If on the yak there is a yellow marker buoy towards terrigal I work the edge from that buoy back to the dive shop/restaurant first then cruise around the boats just look for the weedy patches. Usually cast with one rod and have another in the rod holder bouncing around the bottom On foot I cast off the rocks towards the boats 3.0 is the biggest jig size I use I find the lighter the better.

    Squid

I get calamari out at terrigal haven all year round. Only ever go early morning 5:30 till no later than 9:30 or late afternoon a few hours before dark. Either from the rocks or in my kayak. Got a few the other week before the storms See terrigal squidding post
  13. Thanks, No one spinning. might be to late for spinning in the haven itself.
  14. Yamashita 2.2 orange. Plenty of them in the haven usually catch more on my kayak.
  15. Thanks Stevie Yeh from the rocks toward the boats closer to the ramp not the point. Got one of the bigger ones first cast. Let about 6-7 small ones go back to grow. Fished from 6am- 8am.
  16. When fishing at Ettalong on the Central Coast where the current runs fast.I walk along the beach letting my bait move with the current using a small ball sinker covers more area than the blokes that use big sinkers and sit and wait.i get a good feed of flathead most times. When using my kayak I just drift different with the current changing drift lines each time. I fish as light as possible. So I am a mover rather than sit and wait.
  17. thought I would head out to terrigal haven for a squid this morning. Only went for 2hours but got a nice feed.
  18. i dont get the net in the water to early. i wait for the crab to get to the surface then try to net the crab from behind if they are facing the net they seem to drop off the line. i also tie an empty bottle of berley to the kayak and sink it to the bottom.
  19. I got 8 blue swimmers in 2hrs fishing from a kayak in Brisbane waters using mullet on hand lines. Cut the mullet into chunks not fillets. Large running ball sinker down to a large hook I think they are 5/0.
  20. I got one a couple of months ago and after always being land based find it a great way to get to places that were normally out of reach. I fish Brisbane waters(central coast nsw) .Have caught flathead, bream, whiting and blue swimmer crabs. Just fished Terrigal haven Sunday morning caught 12 calamari. Lip grips and a net are handy(not easy to deal with flathead and crabs without them). I put an esky behind the seat and a keep net over the side. Longest I've been it it is 5 hours. Legs and bum can get little sore but there are plenty of places to pull up to for a stretch. Stability I find to be really good.
