  1. Im just a lowly fisherman in his little kayak. No sounder, just the wind in my hair and the sun on my skin. I go where the heart takes me but quite often the heart is wrong. So please unlock that little secret and let this fisherman have some fun . If that heart felt spiel didnt convince you, maybe this will... Ill be your friend .
  2. Does anyone have the gps coordinates for this wreck? Or can give a good description of where it is?
  3. I caught lots of small queen fish last time i was up there and a few small trevally. I got smoked by some biggens on my spin gear last time but wouldnt take the 6wt to those spots. A lot of the flys to cast at queens etc are quite big and i dont think i would be able to cast them out qith the 6wt.
  4. Thoughts on a 6wt fly rod in Gove? Have a feeling i will get smoked if anything big hits me.
  5. Yea I used to stab them but I could never get them in the right spot. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
  6. One of the best ways to kill a flattie is to hold it in ur hand with a rag and push its head down till its neck breaks. Using the edge of a tinnie seat work better by resting its body on the seat and have its head over the edge and quickly push its head down till till u hear a crack. No mess, fish dies straight away and no twitching. Thought I would share because it looks as though u have stabbed them in the head. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
  7. Yep can vouch for surface lures not working. Cast a cicada popper several times in one spot then a spinner and got smashed. Ended up getting 16 bass, couple busted me off and didnt hook up properly, and one cat fish. Cat fish took a zman 4 inch curly tail with spinner. The spinners were working really well. I lost one to a fish and the other to a crap knot. Thought I was stuffed without the spinners but soon found out slowly retrieving a soft plastic at a constant speed works pretty darn well too. The zman 4 inch curly tail did most of the damage. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
  8. Yea ive got some tt spinners. They worked well last time. Ill let you guys know Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
  9. Ill report back after this weekend. Might have to do some very accurate casting to tempt them out Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
  10. Are they? Not many reports. I figured they may have started heading back downstream after that bit of rain we had. Thoughts?

    Bream spots

I known this might push some buttons so ill ask this; what are some well known consistent bream spots in Sydney? Can't seem to get a bream on lures in Sydney for the life of me! I know structure is a key aspect of finding bream and when I do see some structure, ill fish it from every angle and lose a couple of plastics trying to get it in there nice and deep like... I went to lavender bay the other day but all I caught was a glimpse of some speeding kingies and a couple of small tailor. Flicked a lure at the kings but the stupid tailor got it! Any tips would be much appreciated. Just want to get some decent bream. I promise ill chuck them back so u can catch them too :-D Thanks, Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
  14. With those assist hooks, do you take the back treble off? Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
  15. Those sugar pens are working a treat for u mate! Did the whiting take the walkers on the pause (assuming u were pausing for bream)? Ive been trying to have a crack at the surface lures. What retreives are u using? Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
  16. And yes diesel, surface strikes are friggen awesome. You should try the tt spinners with your favourite plastic. I got probably 8 or so on the spinners. Just a slow wind and they smash them as they go through their patch. Ypu can see one in this pic Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
  17. Hahaha thought it was you. Wasnt sure though Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
  18. Scratchie, just about any river that flows into the hunter river will have bass. Someone reported bass in the barrington river the other day on fish raider and im pretty sure that flows to taree. The river I fished was also off the barrington tops but quite far up to my surprise. 19. My family owns a property in the hunter. Tried to fish the river a couple of times when I was younger with no luck. Cousin said her and her bf caught some bass the other week. Hearing this I was so excited. I had been wanting to catch bass for ages. Long story short, over two days i managed to catch 34 bass. They were ferocious with their takes. They were mostly hitting the surface but did take some zman grubs and minows with a tt spinner as well. Was awesome fun. I had a cheap kakoda cicada popper. That did most of the damage. 7/10 takes were as soon as the popper hit the surface then boof. It was on. One memorable battle I had was with a decent 35 cm fish. I cast up hard to the bank and jiggled the popper then boof. Snatched it and went bezerk! Drag was singing, i had to tighten it up as she went home under the bank. The line went tight as it momentarily started to rub against the bank but i kept pulling her out and she eventually came out. Good battle little bass. Biggest bass I got was 39cm and most were in high 20 low 30cms. Caught them on my abu garcia 1-3kg with shimano 1000 aernos (think thats how you spell the name of the reel) spooled with 3lb power pro and 8lb leader. Good times Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
  20. Ive had the pearl white ones run with the motor oil Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
  21. Also u cant mix your zmans with any other plastics. That will make them go soft and gooey. Also, dont mix zman colours together. The colours will start running Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
  22. Im a zman fan boy. Got the 2.5 grubz in many colours. My fav is greasy prawn. Try the hidden weight tt jig heads with the grubz in shallow water with a bit of flavouring (I use the squidgies s factor) and u will get plenty of touches Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
  23. Good news then. Ive had a crack at a few places aroubd Sydney with no luck. Family owns a property and the allyn runs through it. Only ever seen cat fish and eels but then again never really had a good look. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
  24. Yea had a look on maps. If there's bass in that river might be in the allyn river as well to the south of the tops Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
  25. Barrington river near the Barrington tops in the upper hunter? Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
