  1. Great session fellas!

I'm not a fan of eating salmon but they are are my favourite fish to target for sheer fun factor. :yahoo:

Their surface strikes are fantastic and they give a great account of themselves, especially on bream gear. :biggrin2:

Terrific report and photos as always.

Love the ZipNZiggy (in black pearl) and the sebile range of lures. (especially on the bass)

    Cheers

  2. A few of the local schools have 'fishing' as a sport here. It used to be conducted in the Moruya River next to where I worked. At lunch time I would go down there, catch up with the teachers, and give talks on casting, knot tying, lures and so on. Kids would sit there rapt and the teachers were very appreciative. It was the favourite day of the week for them ... and me as well! :biggrin2:

    Cheers

  3. G'day all

We had a great day for the challenge and Dene and I had a ball. Whilst I couldn't find a fish over 65cm Dene landed a couple of very nice fish. Z man and squidgy lures were the most successful for us on the day, all fished on 1/4 oz jigheads. Color didn't seem to matter much, as long as you fished out of the current and located the bait. We missed out on the money again this year but it was an extremely enjoyable day on the water with my old mate, with the usual banter and mischief. Congrats, Deno!

  4. G'Day all

Received a few phonecalls from my youngest brother and his son on Fri/Sat. They were camped on the Edward River near Moulamein. Although the river level is high, water conditions were perfect. The two blokes enjoyed a crackin' weekend, landing yellas, silver bream and murray cod. Most of the cod fell to dark spinnerbaits thrown deep into the the timber and one to a trolled silver Poltergeist.

I've recently picked up a couple of codseeker surface lures and am looking forward to giving them a swim in water like this in the very near future!

  6. Excellent photots as always Dean and an entertainting read. :yahoo:

Judging by the photos, there was no specific skirt color on the spinnerbaits that did the damage? (I'm a big fan of the purple/bronze skirt in the first photo)

All the fish look to be in excellent condition; especially the cod. Looks like a terrific part of the world to roam with a rod and lure.

Would you mind giving me a rough idea what hardbody was effective on the trout mate?

    Cheers
